Where do you "hang out?"

Oh no! I was hoping for quiet... That CD made me nuts!

Carival's serenity deck discontinued music a while ago. So nice to have a quiet place!

Thanks for reporting back.

I would bet the cabana attendants could adjust the volume or turn it off altogether if you asked. The Retreat Cabana/Cabana Club on the Eurodam and Nieuw Amsterdam are such wonderful places!

When we lived in Northern Virginia we typically cruised the Caribbean in mid to late March. Part of it was our anniversary is March 21 and secondly because the weather up there is not the "south" and we typically were tired of cold, snow, and the general gloom of winter. With that in mind we really got used to spending as much time as possible out of our cabin so that meant off the ship on port days and around the pools on sea days. In the late afternoon, and actually most of the evening, our favorite place used to be the Crow's Nest. Unfortunately the Crow's Nest is not what it was years and years ago. Living in San Antonio, Texas now I'd have to say we still love being outside though the drive is not so strong now as our typical winters here are relatively mild and short.

Since most of my cruises are to Alaska I like to hang out in Crow's Nest in the Morning, Thermal Suite in afternoon, back to Crow's Nest for Happy Hour. It can also be interesting to people watch at the Lido bar as long as the pool isn't full of screaming kids and only takes a couple to spoil it for me.

The aft pool for me ... the view, the wake, the sun ... heaven!! My second choice is my balcony. If the weather doesn't permit, I usually don't settle anywhere, I like to wander around and people watch.

Mr Chew hangs out in the casino, even when he's not playing anything. He always gets to know every single person who works there and they get to know him. Every late afternoon that it's possible, he spends a few hours in the hot tub, talking & reading, before he has to get ready for dinner.

We are cabin rats, and spend almost the entirety of every cruise on the balcony watching and listening to the sea, and reading.

When we do wander out, we enjoy the Ocean Bar and the Explorer's Lounge. We live in Florida where almost every house has a pool (some obscure law, I think?) so we have never been to one on any ship (don't flame me, but I don't like feeling as if I am bathing with strangers) and I definitely don't need any time on a lounger in the sun (I'm quite wrinkled enough already, thank you very much!).

The gym at 6, then Exploration's Cafe for morning coffee, Aft Pool area for rest of the morning doing Sudoku, Crosswords and reading all the newspapers. Then its the promenade deck for walking and lounging.

We don't spend much time in the Crowsnest anymore, preferring the Ocean Bar, especially on the Maasdam.

We're not very exciting anymore --- we simply read and walk a lot, and DW is constantly vigilant to wake me up when I'm snoring too loudly in my lounger on lower promenade!

I love walking around the ship on sea days, just exploring and people watching. I meet the nicest people that way.

When I do actually sit in a deck chair and relax , I find something out of the way , I don't care what deck it is on. As long as I am in the sun I am happy.

Never did understand these people chair hogging all the loungers right by the pool with all the noise and commotion. But to each their own. :)

Since I'm an early riser (and DW is NOT) on sea days I head to the gym and work out for an hour or so. By the time I get back DW is usually up and ready for breakfast. Then it is usually off to the pool or Cabana, depending on the ship.

In the evenings, we do late seating, so we will stop in one of the lounges (martini bar) for a drink before dinner. Then after dinner we will usually go to the show, then to the casino to deposit some cash.

On port days it's up early to wander around or go on an excursion.

For me thermal suite in the morning and after lunch. The crows nest explorations in between for trivia or scrabble with DH. After dinner it's the ocean bar for both of us to listen to music. DH likes to stay in the cabin a lot and take naps. Sometimes he will do that on a lounger on the promenade deck. We are pretty much creatures of habit on sea days.
