Overnight in port by tender question.

We are booked on a Sydney - Singapore sailing in November with an overnight in Cairns, we're tendering instead of docking.

Does anyone have any experience of tendering on overnight stops?

Do the tender boats run all night or do we have to be back on board by a certain time?

Thanks

Mark.

We were on the Celebrity Solstice at Cairns and had some tender problems there. We were delayed for over an hour. No overnight.

From our experience on Quest, they run all night, although at a greatly reduced schedule in the wee hours.

Thanks, we don't intend to be too late back but there are so many things to do in Cairns we'd like to return to the ship around 10 - 11pm and leave again the following morning around 5am.

We are doing the same cruise and i was wondering the same. Also wondered, on the first overnight in Sydney, when does the ship pull away and you have to tender back to shore? I'm guessing it will be docked at some point to get people and baggage on board and maybe late at night it will pull out and you can tender back the next day maybe? I just don't know how difficult it will be if we want to get back off and look around once we have dropped our bags, got cases and looked around. Never done an over-nighter in port.

The ship tenders into Yorkey's Knob, which is actually a small private harbor with a club.

It is some miles from Cairns, although close to SkyRail, which is great for seeing the rain forest.

X had some problems in March when we tendered there. There was a delay of almost two hours, also, they made a mess of the shuttle bus. Many people waited in line to get on the bus only to find out that they had to get into another line to pickup shuttle tickets.

Also, Cairns is not that much to see, most people do SkyRail or the Great Barrier Reef.
