Shucks, we have a 30 million dollar cruise terminal here in Mobile that is now only being used for high school proms and family reunions, so sure, we can accommodate the Conquest for a couple of days. Enjoy your stay.

Used to live on the Gulf. When the Holiday came to Mobile, we all got on it in 2007. That was my first and absolutely best Carnival. Incredibly happy crew and high standard customer service. One of the best rooms I have had, on CCL anyway!

I had a hard time figuring out why CCL left, to be honest . it is a great middle location for us St Louis to Nashville heartlanders. We had cruised twice on CCL from NO LA after they left Mobile and it was good too. I really hope that DCL will go to NO LA but Mobile would be even better because its only 40 min to my parents in GS! Seriously cruise lines, NOT every cruise has to go out of FL! That's a heck of a drive as much as I love it, how about bringing ships to the masses instead of making us come to you. (Airfare is a drag, can cost as much as the cruise! 14 hr drive each way is a drag too!)

Come on cruises! Mobile is easy, beautiful, has a good airport, and don't even get me started on the seafood... *siiighhhh*

Great museums, gorgeous ecology. Family friendly. What else can I say.

Agree! Feel free to stay a while, or years and enjoy our southern hospitality.

Easiest port I've ever cruised out of and only an hour from home. If they put a big ship with couple of nice iteneraries I think it may draw more passengers than Nola.

But first they would have to fix the politics

And like another poster said earlier about the Holiday, I cruised on her out of Nola in 2003 (I think) and the service on that little booger has not been topped.

I've never cruised out of Mobile (and don't know why lines have stopped:confused: ) but I hope you get a ship back soon! For now...a few days of the Conquest may make those in the decision making positions rethink things?

Enjoy seeing her there!

I have only had the pleasure of sailing or visiting Mobile once! My experience with the people of that fine city was nothing short of wonderful! From the gas station attendant who took the time to tell me where I needed to go to get the hotel, to the hotel staff that where not only friendly but super helpful when our car had issues to the people who worked at the cruise terminal for not only being warm, but hospitable as well! I have sailed out of Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, and Pt. Canaveral and those employees made me fill indifferent, or rather they where indifferent to us! Whereas mobile the terminal employees where genuine and receptive! I Hope Carnival will reposition a ship back soon!

I just want to say Thank You!! Reading all of these post and the wonderful things people have to say about Mobile, thank you! Living somewhere day in and day out sometimes you tend to overlook what a nice place it really is. :)

Well heck...I want to sail from there now too!!! :D

Why am I in FLL or MIA or wherever most of the time? Actually I think I'm going to do NOLA this fall...for the change of scenery!

Sounds like there is nothing like good old southern hospitality to make everyone feel good!

OK..so now someone has to tell me please WHY there isn't a ship in Mobile anymore?? Sounds like it was great!

We sailed out of Mobile 1x. Its about the same distance from St Louis to Mobile as it is to NOLA. My biggest complaint was that the parking garage wasn't big enough. We pulled in and couldn't find a spot to park in the garage. My husband ended up dropping me off and parking somewhere else.

We liked having more options on which cruises within driving distance. Mobile and NOLA are the only ports that we will attempt to drive to in one day. I really prefer making it a 2days trip and getting to enjoyQ

Just prior to Carnival's announcement that they were leaving (March 2011), the city purchased property formerly occupied by L&N Railroad. It's located about a block away from the cruise terminal and the plan was to put in additional parking space. There are also several nearby hotels that were offering park & cruise options that you might not have known about.

We keep hearing rumors about possibly another ship coming to Mobile, but nothing concrete so far.

We live in Mobile, about 15 minutes from the cruise terminal. Just got back from there. drove down to see the beautiful Conquest.

Ok Carnival, time to bring us a beautiful Carnival ship to homeport here.

Are you listening Carnival!!!:D

We cruised out of Mobile several times on all three of the ships that were here. Many people here did the same and we ALL WANT A SHIP HERE!

I know you people at Carnival are reading this so please get the beards to listen to us.

Thanks:)

Unfortunately, I believe that Mr Cahill does not understand intangibles. If he is convinced somehow that CCl can increase it's profit by 50 cents per person by changing a ship's home port, he will simply do so! Seems not to matter about the accuracy of that conclusion, just that he believes it! I understand that Mr Dickinson is now back in some capacity; let's hope he can make some changes.

We sailed on the Holiday in '07 out of Mobile. I agree that it is the same distance from STL to NOLA or Mobile; and a lot less of a hassle to go to Mobile. Loved the day we spent in your fine city. If CCL puts a ship back there I will definitely sail from there.

Don't get your hopes up folks for a cruise line in Mobile.

I would love it too, but I don't believe they can make any money.

Sure they'll fill up the ship, but the other profit centers -- casino, bar, shops, excursions, photos, etc. -- will suffer.

Sad to say, but I believe that's why they pulled out in the first place and why no other cruise line has stepped up.

The booze sales for sure! They had to purchase booze from Alabama to sale while the ship was docked and in Mobile waters. I remember thinking what a hassle that was. I wanted a bud in a aluminum bottle, and all they where selling was cans! :/
