Carnival/ Ocean Players Club

I finally got through to them and got completely ripped off! I lost between 6 and 7 thousand on my previous cruise (and spent a lot of time in the casino). You're supposed to get 10% of your losses back in casino cash and I'm only receiving $250 and the casino rate for the cruise is more than the past guest rate so I don't even get a room discount! They really screwed up rating me because they said I lost $2300 and had $7300 in total bets for the 6 days. If that's the case then I lost pretty much every bet I placed the entire week. I told them to go back and check my sail and sign statement to see exactly how much I lost and they're telling me they can only retrieve the casino win/loss statements?!?!? I even gave them permission to look at my onboard spending because the majority came from my sail and sign card and they could easily trace that.

I receive free cruises and great casino cash from NCL when I don't lose nearly as much or spend as much time in the casino. I'm doing an August cruise I already have booked and then I'm done with Carnival unless they call me back with positive news. I've lost over 9k in the casino on my last 2 cruises alone and this is how they treat me.

Had the same thing happen to me. Last cruise my wife and I got to know the pit bosses and casino host. We chatted and joked around with them frequently and let them know we wanted to be rated. Low and behold on our upcoming cruise this month we received a great rate, cash at the cage, and drinks on us cards as soon as we board. It seems that the pit bosses are the ones that can screw you by being lazy.

You need to find a better way to invest. That being said there is no excuse for the company not having the true numbers. Don't know who else you could take this to but I would sure be pressing the issue

It's not an investment, it's entertainment and I'm quite comfortable with the amount I lost (sorry, I never came here to ask for your advice on where to put my money). The point here is how they treat their players and not coming close to keeping track of my play. I've already pressed the issue once but I'm not going to waste my time calling 10 different people and probably get nowhere. It's not the money that's the issue, it's how they treated me when I called and I was very friendly with them.

You're 100% correct, the pit bosses are the one's that can really screw you. I received the drinks on us card too but I get that after the first couple of hours anyway. I was shocked when I called and the casino rate was more than the past guest rate. My biggest problem is that they can easily check my sail and sign account and see how much I put at the tables and they'll see I obviously bet much more than the $7200 they claim I bet for the entire week. They said they emailed the ship for the win/ lose statement and whatever else they plan on doing. I don't expect anything to come from it, especially since I've already booked my cruise. I'm amazed that they don't want me back as a guest. NCL bends over backwards for me. I don't expect Carnival to do the same but I expect to be treated fairly and get what I'm entitled to. A friend I met on the cruise never lost or gambled nearly as much as me and he received $100 more than me.

Yeah i have had the same experience with the players club on Carnival. I spent a few more then you have. I have been getting lousy offers and then all of sudden after i called and flipped out on the rep over the phone and sent a nasty email about how they need to retrain their employees on how to track the table game players play and report them better.

Now i have received a total of 3 different offers for free cruises, 2 of them with large amount of casino cash almost 1250, but those were only for pre-selected cruises. Now my latest cruise offer from the players club is for a free inside cabin on any cruise thru 4-2014. if available.

I see your headed out on the Pride soon. I was wondering if you could tell me who the Casino Hosts are and the names of some of the pit bosses when you return? I just want to know who is still on the ship from last summer if any of them. We are leaving August 25th on the Pride

I know the Host changed out this Past January. We met both of them during our cruise. The new guy should still be on the ship. I'll do my best to get names, however I have a tough time remembering everyday names, let alone some of the names of the crew. They usually all have nick names which helps out. Last cruise we took pictures with them. If they are still aboard we will share the pics to jog their memories.

Thanks and good luck! I would appreciate it!

My husband and I spend most of our sea days in the casino-him playing craps and me three card poker! I haven't called the players club yet but I am hoping for something??? I would especially like the drink card upon arrival (they did this last summer when went).

Any advice?

I gave up calling them. I have found this to be hit or miss. I just send an email. For this cruise I specifically asked if we qualified for the "Drinks on Us" card. The other gifts, while they are a nice gesture, don't mean a whole lot to us. The cash and the card however do provide a value.

I called the casino department of Carnival upon return from my last 4 day cruise 18 months ago. They told me they had record of me spinning $8,000 and I would get 10% of that back on my next cruise. I booked a cruise last month, sailing 8/15/13 and they said all they could offer me was $100. I am not happy!

I feel your pain! I just got the latest offer from Carnival last week - $150 and a discounted cruise. Luckily for me, I just received a mailer from NCL offering me a free cruise and casino cash. Oh, and I'm already booked on a free NCL cruise this Dec after sailing with them once. I don't know what happened with Carnival's casino club, but it seems a lot of people are...unimpressed. To say the least.

I hope you don't mind my asking, are you that big of a player or are they exceedingly generous? Do you mostly play slots or table games? I hit the craps tables pretty hard on Royal and they treat me well, but not that well(no free cruises yet). Best of luck in Dec.

Don't mind at all! I'm not THAT big of a player, honest! I stick with slots (usually pennies), with the occasional evenings of roulette or 3-card poker thrown in for fun. But I bet the minimum on table games. My one and only NCL cruise (a 10 day sailing) ended with me having just over 4500 points and my husband with just under 2,000. I think - I'm not totally sure on his. All I know is that in NCL's tier system, I'm still at the lowest level. I was shocked when I called CAS asking about maybe a discount, and got the comped cabin. And even more shocked when I got a mailer for another one! Granted, the dates are all in Nov/Dec this year, when I'm already sailing, so it's HIGHLY unlikely I'll take them up on it, but it's still a nice gesture. :)

My strategery? Drink and push buttons. :D I always play all the lines. I only do max bet if it's no more than $2.00. If I'm feeling froggy, I'll do a spin or two at a higher max bet. If I'm on a dry streak, I'll bet a lot lower for a few spins. I'm also weird about what machines I'll play. I'm a huge fan of the Quick Hit machines - I can play those all day long. And occasionally do. :) I spend some money throughout the week, but from reading about other casino players on here, I don't think I'm nearly the high roller that a lot of folks are. I also read somewhere that besides $$$, another part of calculating comps is time spent gambling. Heck if i know how NCL does it, but I'm not complaining!

LOL ! Apparently I'm doing this "Drink and push buttons" way correctly! Well let's see if it works on my next 2 cruises!

Excellent choice! If I didn't already have my airfare arranged for my Dec cruise, I'd double up and make it a B2B!
