Western Med in 2nd Half of November

Would appreciate any input regarding weather in the Western Med. during the last two weeks of November. We're thinking about adding a Pre-transatlantic Western Med cruise from Barcelona to Venice and back to Barcelona, also stopping in Ravenna, Rome, La Spezia, and Salerno. We know it will be cool, but how is it otherwise. Thanks for any help on this.

It is quite likey to rain at that time of year and it won't be very hot, maybe around 15-18C during the day and about 10C at night. Depending where you are it tends to be fairly damp at night.

Also, remember that the days will be short. It will be dark around 6pm. The positive side is that there will be far less tourists around and some places may have their Christmas street light decorations up.

There is a fair chance that the weather can be pretty good, as well as rainy. Pack layers and an umbrella, and enjoy the much lower off-season prices.

Agree. We've done three cruises in the area during November (last two were late November, first was more mid-November). Rome and south has been pretty nice, with people sitting out sunning on the pool deck on sea days in swimsuits. North has been more iffy.

Personally, I can't wait until we're retired and can do the back to backs and revisit some these wonderful ports with only a one-way flight, even if the weather is more of a gamble. No crowds, lower hotel prices and much lower cruise prices - frankly I have been pleasantly surprised how good the weather has been.

Hopefully, you've already been to Venice - so if there is major flooding you wouldn't be crushed. That's the biggest risk. We had only slight flooding (elevated walks were needed for some of St. Marks second day). But, beautiful blue skies both days.
