Feb weather in Key West

We been to the Caribbean before in Feb and know that it can be perceived as hot since we are still thawing out from the Midwest cold. My question is what will the weather be like in Feb in Key West? Will it be comparable to southern Florida weather or the intense sun weather from the Caribbean? Thanks.

Typically, it is in the low 70s in February. However, in February, we are prone to cold fronts that push their way down from the north. When that happens, temps can dip into the 50s for a couple days, sometimes (very rarely) even with overnight lows in the 40s. Water temps will be upper 60s/low 70s.

The water temperature is rather chilly. It's not hot like the Caribbean ... but mostly it's mild weather and is enjoyable for walking around on sunny days.

We always enjoy having a port stop in Key West. :)

In my opinion, February has some of the best, most pleasant weather of the year in Key West, but there can be an occasional chilly blast. It is very hard to predict exactly when that will happen.

I agree with the previous posters. Should be in the 70's but even if you get a cool front it will be much warmer than the midwest so you will enjoy it.

There are a few 5.00 shops on Duval where you can buy a sweatshirt if it is cool so don't buy one for 30.00.

The weather really starts to warm up in March. We had a pretty hot March this year. Water temps were in the high 70s to 80 degrees.

We will be there Mid-Nov. what should we expect with weather around then?

November is a nice month with warm, sunny weather. Typically in the low 80s during the day, 70s at night.

Key West to Nassau often has similar weather/temperatures as South Florida in the winter months. By February, it should be warm. We were there end of November 2012 and it was sunny, beautiful, summer weather.
