brnsnbrws Posted July 15, 2013 #1 Share Posted July 15, 2013 wondering if anyone knows if muster drill is held inside or out on deck by lifeboats on the freedom
KPfromCT Posted July 15, 2013 #2 Share Posted July 15, 2013 Not sure about the freedom but on the Pride it was held outside and when we cruised on the breeze in April it was held inside the main theater. I think All ships do probably both inside and outside it just depends what cabin and what station you have.

Be one of the last ones to arrive or you'll get stuck in the back, and it's hot back there.

We just did the Glory(outside, all on deck 4) July 4, 2013 and it was outside-agree-show up later, so you are in the front row-hot in back. Also, on Glory, not all lifeboats-our was a life raft-did not look as sturdy. Thank goodness we did not need one.

elliair Posted July 15, 2013 #7 Share Posted July 15, 2013 All the Carnival cruises we've been on have been held outside. Here's a hint. We met in one of the theaters and sat close to the door to exit. We were in the first line to go outside. It was easy to go our way without dodging people when the drill ended. Miller_KC Posted March 20, 2014 #11 Share Posted March 20, 2014 We were outside on the freedom. We've had indoor drills twice, but usually on smaller ships.
Shmoo here Posted March 20, 2014 #12 Share Posted March 20, 2014 On the Fantasy, Elation and Triumph they were held inside and then moved outside on deck. That's what we did on the Inspiration. We all met in the Rock N Roll Dance Club on the Promenade deck. There they went over the safety procedures, how to put on life vest, and issued wristbands to all the kids. Then we lined up in 2 lines and they walked us to our actual boat loading location on the Lido deck. There we had to wait a really long time for them to get everyone there and announce that this was where we would board our lifeboat. Then they excused us. On Inspiration and Imagination there are only a few muster stations on the Lido deck (mostly for cabins in the aft section). I've been in the theater or casino lounge. Mid-ship Empress deck. SadieN Posted March 21, 2014 #16 Share Posted March 21, 2014 (edited) Carnival is the only cruise line to do the drills outside. Most other cruise lines do them inside Unless it's recently changed HAL dies muster drills outside. Seems that the Fantasy class ships start in a lounge then migrate to the lifeboat stations. The other ships are at the lifeboat stations. Edited March 21, 2014 by SadieN

dljones Posted March 22, 2014 #24 Share Posted March 22, 2014 Our last time on the Magic was in the theater. I think it just depends on you muster station. What pisses me off is being stuck in there while they go over the same material in a half dozen languages and you miss the sail away. I know I am exaggerating a bit here but sail away is major fun time for me. Lucky for us, the last time the boat left about an hour and a half late but I have been on other cruises when sail away has already happened after the muster drill...
