Cruizinman Posted July 23, 2013 #51 Share Posted July 23, 2013 Princess has those on their new ship, Royal Princess. From what I've been reading, they seem to be very popular. Take that, chair hoggers! That looks great !
trvlqueen Posted July 23, 2013 #52 Share Posted July 23, 2013 I agree with this whole heartedly. Been wishing for a duplicate of NCL's Blue Lagoon/O'Sheehan's forever. A 24 place with pub grub and sports Yes, I love the thought of the insides with virtual views! Amen to both!

wings34 Posted July 23, 2013 #54 Share Posted July 23, 2013 If I could design Vista, it would have a basic design similar to the Spirit class ships with at least 2 full interior 'promenade' like public decks. A huge, open atrium with lots of windows to see outside; underneath a red glass ceiling thats part of the funnel. At least 3 LARGE pools: Main, Adults only, and family; one of which would be covered with a retractable dome. No cabins on Lido or higher decks, but use the extra space for pools and Waterworks (which would include a larger version of the Green Thunder and others), a bunch of outdoor activities, more buffet space and other dining options (free of charge). Maybe have the buffet have various stations that serve foods from different regions of the world, in addition to the normal fare. Keep most of the 2.0 features and improve > keep Guys and Blue Iguana open through the evening, and add new features. Bright, tropical decor similar to Breeze. Larger windows on inside decks to provide a better view of the ocean. On the highest deck aft, have a parasailing line for use on sea days as the ship is in motion. DebBrown Posted July 23, 2013 #55 Share Posted July 23, 2013 Love the pub grub idea... Wings!! Just got off the Breeze and the Red Frog pub is awesome! Make it an inside bar. But... Open air vs doors to the outside. Make the funphone app a reality so you can use the ships WiFi to text at a reasonable price and available on iPods too. Wasn't up and running while we were on the the Breeze. I don't want internet. Just wanna be able to text within our group while in the ship without international charges. Love the preorder idea for the MDR. I dislike eating for an hour and a half. But... Love the food. Let me view all my pictures in my room on my TV instead of searching for them. I never find them all. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Forums mobile app GREAT idea about the pictures!! Why can't they scan your sail and sign card and show them in your room?? RuthlessBoss Posted July 23, 2013 #57 Share Posted July 23, 2013 Times change, less smokers in the population today. A smoke free ship would sell out in today's world if the itinerary was popular. I'm not suggesting that entire fleets go smoke free, just that I think one smoke free ship would do much better nowadays. Do you really think having 1 or 2 smoke free ships will work? Will people spend money to fly across the country just to be on a particular ship with no smoke, even if they don't like the itinerary?

rainbowflag Posted July 23, 2013 #61 Share Posted July 23, 2013 What does a few hours flying non smoking have to do with it? I said "times change" earlier. The airlines changed smoking policies. I said it to support my statement that times change. Got it?
myfamilyluvs2cruise Posted July 23, 2013 #62 Share Posted July 23, 2013 I would love: Virtual balconies on inside rooms LARGE swim up bar encompassing 3 sides of an infinity pool A few of the mini swimming pools with powerful jets that simulate lap swimming - for those of us who want a water workout Movie theater inside with family friendly movies showing 24-7 Laser tag arena for the kids/teens A children's work out area with lots of classes offered for kids/teens to burn off the 100 pounds of sugar and ice cream they eat! Tennis courts In room massage that you could have done on your balcony Rollerblading track around the ship More cooking classes aimed at different demographics/skill levels Toppings for the ice cream available every day- M and M's! Gluten free chicken tenders by the pool (great ones on Disney!) A veggie juice/smoothie bar for a healthier alternative Wine pairing/tasting classes closer to dinner- too early in the day to drink wine A lower deck platform for deep sea fishing Trampoline park Poolside lunch menus and waiters at adult pool so don't have to worry about getting up and losing chairs Towel service getting on and off the ship in port like Disney- can dump your sandy/wet towels and not bring them back on a clean ship Classes for kids about sealife/marine life/ecology Just a small, but doable list . . . . cynt Posted July 23, 2013 #63 Share Posted July 23, 2013 Love these ideas - Lazy river Swim up bar Real room service with hot breakfast and full dinner menu Cabanas by the pool for a fee Sports bar w/ wings NY and Chicago pizza Undersea cabin In cabin massages on your balcony I would add - Royal promenade deck concept like on RCCL - full length of ship and add promenade cabins with views out to the promenade. Sign up for chef table just like an excursion instead of having to figure it all out. Just list it as an excursion for people to purchase precruise. Man made beach the length of the ship. Take one deck and let a third of it (forward to aft) be sand, cabanas, hammocks, palm trees, bar, deck chairs, food trucks 3 or 4 different food types and the next third zero entry for the little ones, water sprayers, water toys aft and swim up bar for adults forward portion of the ship and the last third 4-5 feet deep pool the length of the ship forward to aft. Manny13840 Posted July 23, 2013 #64 Share Posted July 23, 2013 Love the idea of elevators facing the ocean instead being inside.. About bigger pools a bowling alley and a slide similar to what the new Disney Cruise ships have.... Single balconies too!!! And more Cove Balconies like the magic they are the best! Also in the Waterworks or Sports Square put a flow rider (the surf thing) and why not a rock climbing for the teens.. And a bigger adults only area with a adult only pool! PinaCarada Posted July 23, 2013 #65 Share Posted July 23, 2013 I'd like to see a few electronic dart boards on the new ship. They could be situated near the sports bar/casino area. There could be open-play times and contests or multi-day "leagues" organized by the ship's entertainment staff.
uksimonusa Posted July 23, 2013 #66 Share Posted July 23, 2013 I actually like your MDR idea! And the free specialty coffees for Platinum and up. I did say the sky's the limit ;) Would love for you to go on and on :D On another note I'll be shocked if there are no solo cabins on this ship. And people have been clamoring for a lazy river with swim up bars for years. It would be pretty cool if Carnival was the first to do it. Carnival used to have a swim up bar on the Destiny, so they have already done it.....and removed it!

jtwanabe Posted July 24, 2013 #69 Share Posted July 24, 2013 (edited) The breeze will blow it from the end of the ship out to sea. Leather chairs adult beverages etc. I would pay for that in a heart beat. I so enjoy a good cigar while looking over the rail. I try to be considerate but some folks act like I don't deserve to live. Deal with it. Edited July 24, 2013 by jtwanabe

Mariner86 Posted July 28, 2013 #72 Share Posted July 28, 2013 I've noticed that different cruise lines have different philosophies when it comes to ship design and layout. On Carnival, it seems to me, you can’t get from one end on the ship to the other without having to walk through the Casino and the cloud of smoke it generates. On Norwegian, you are hard pressed to find the casino. Quiet space, all cruise ship need more quiet space! Norwegian has great libraries, but Carnival’s libraries double as a Mahjong palaces with all the smashing of pieces into the table and shouting that goes along with the playing.
