Best View When Leaving From New York

I have an aft extended balcony. Do people think it better to watch the city views from the balcony or from a certain place/side of the ship?

We prefer to be on our Balcony taking pictures and enjoying a nice beverage - we are schedule again in December and again, we will be on our balcony, this time for the warmth!

I think an aft balcony is a good place to be. You will see the newly-built Freedom Tower and all the buildings of mid-town and lower Manhattan on the port side of the ship as you head down the Hudson River, and the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, etc. on the starboard side.

We had an aft balcony for one NYC sailaway and I liked being able to see the entire harbor right from the balcony - Manhattan to one side, Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island to the other. However, for sailing under the Verazzano Bridge I like going up to one of the higher decks. It's an experience!
