Triumph.

I like it because it has a lot of the advantages of the bigger ships, but it is smaller.

It is also great for five days.

I wish it was still in New Orleans as it was a definite pleasant change from Elation.

The Valor was awesome! Beautiful ship, excellent service, it never felt crowded, except for once on the last night around the deck where the pictures were set up there were a million people down in that area and much confusion. Other than that, the ship never once felt crowded.

Hands down, the Breeze!!!! The Joe Farcus decor is GONE!!! Very Caribbean theme going on. Never felt crowds, even though thousands travel on her. Just a beautiful ship with EVERY amenity possible.:D:D:D

Any Spirit-class ship (Spirit, Pride, Miracle, Legend) because the flow is great and you rarely feel the ship is crowded.

I agree! Miracle has been my favorite so far - even with those hideous purple grapes/lights in the MDR. :p

The Dream!!! No other ship even comes close. Plenty of fun things to do, tons of activities, awesome waterslides, great atmosphere, currently sails out of Port Canaveral, shortest lines of any ship I've been on, least crowded ship of any I've been on other than Miracle. I've met some great people on this ship both times.

The newer ships may have more amenities, but that doesn't necessarily make it a better ship. Dream is the perfect mix of having some of the new stuff without getting rid of the older stuff that we all enjoy. While the newer Carnival ships are abandoning the concept of entertaining their guests, the Dream still tries to provide good entertainment.

The Dream is our favorite...love everything about her! Freedom comes in a close second (decor is way over the top), but one of our best cruises....then Victory, love the CD!

Breeze was okay, Butch is a great CD, but food was not up to par, and entertainment was really lacking....still had a great time, and we are going on her again.

My favorite is the Legend. I'm sure all the spirit class ships are laid out pretty much the same. I love the size, layout, ease of getting around. I've been on smaller and way larger, but these great mid sized ships are right up my alley. The Serenity area is quite large, with loads of seating, shade or sun.

The show lounges are huge and very comfy. I love being on deck 4, then I'm 2 up from the casino and dining. I'm 1 up from a great outdoor deck. A quick trip up the elevator to deck 9 for food. Its, just the way I like it.

Lots of seating areas in various places around the ship too. JMO

I really like the Spirit Class. I've been on both the Miracle and the Legend - I give the Miracle a slight edge decor-wise. The Legend has too much brown - I do not like brown.

BUT ... that said, I've recently sailed on the Splendor, and it gave the Miracle a run for the money. I'd say it's a very close second. Miracle has ugly grape lights in the MDR and the Splendor has pink dots everywhere. Neither bothered me.

Miracle's Serenity area has a pool and hot tubs - which most don't - and I like the arrangement back there with the bar and the tables in the shade.

But the Splendor ... ah the Splendor ... has the Mongolian Wok, the Burrito Bar, the Rotisserie, California Roll Sushi all FREE! No Guy's - but I'll take the Mongolian Wok!

The Miracle has a great hot tub in the gym/spa area that's free and great in inclement weather. The Splendor has the Thalassotherapy pool - but you have to pay extra or get a Spa cabin.

I give the Splendor Steak House the edge. Nick & Nora's on the Miracle is cool up in the stack with all the skylights, but the Pinnacle on the Splendor was more intimate. It had a very classy upscale restaurant feel. And the staff was really great - fabulous service and Victorian, the head chef comes around to each table to ask how you are enjoying the meal - a very nice touch.

So the Splendor and the Miracle are neck and neck with the Miracle getting a slight edge for flow and ease of navigation. But ask me again after another cruise on the Splendor!

... am I limited to a Carnival ship? ;):D

If so, my choice would be any Spirit class ship, followed by any Conquest class ship with 2.0 updates.

Thus, you may note, that our cruise in a couple of weeks is NOT on one of those - yet we'll still have a great time!

  • Liked the size and the PAX ratio
  • Spotless
  • Friendliest, most helpful crew we have encountered to date
  • The 8-day was our favorite itinerary so far (St. Thomas, Antigua, Tortola, Nassau -- Nassau is the weakest link, LOL)
  • Enjoyed cruising out of Fort Lauderdale

My favorite ship is the Legend with the Fascination being a close second. I love the layout of the Legend and their staff is excellent. Another reason to love sailing her is the valet parking that makes Tampa the easiest embarkation in all of the ports I have sailed from.

The Fascination is located in Jacksonville, which is the 2nd easiest port to sail from. The crew/staff on the Fascination is very friendly and has consistently provided excellent service.

I have sailed both ships multiple times and will continue sailing them until Carnival moves them.

I've sailed the Pride three times. She feels like home to me. I love all the spirit class ships the size is just right. I love sailing from Baltimore, we always go the day before, stay at the same hotel, eat at the same restaurant and when our cruise is done we are home in 2 hours.

Well, we have not done any ships newer than the Splendor yet, but of the ones we've done here are my favorites and the pros/cons of them:

Miracle (Spirit class) - As others have said, GREAT flow and never feels crowded. We also got married on this ship, so we are kind of biased. We've done the Pride too, and although the Pride decor was more classic/tasteful, the crowd and crew out of Baltimore seemed overall a little more stressed/less friendly that we are used to (although with some exceptions - met some great folks and our favorite bartender to date was on the Pride although he is on another ship now)

Glory (Conquest class) - The 2.0 upgrades have really improved this ship. The Lido is much more active, the Alchemy bar and the folks working it are phenomenal, and the Lido/bar crew were all very personable. Cons would be the layout of the Conquest class with the galley placement preventing you from walking through on decks 3 & 4, and the Lido restaurant can get very crowded. There are usually free tables upstairs though. The Freedom was very comparable to it, but I don't think it has the 2.0 yet (at least it didn't as of Nov 2012)

Splendor - This is like a new, improved version of the Conquest class. The main improvement is that the covered part of the Lido is the center, so even in cooler weather the main venues on Lido can be open. Also, although Serenity is still in the front of the ship (bad placement imo), at least the aft pool/hot tubs are reserved for adults only, and unlike on some other ships, this seemed to actually be enforced in practice. The one downside we experienced, which we hope has changed, is that the cleanliness of dishes was not always good. We found numerous dirty dishes in the buffet line, the dining room, and even a greasy coffee cup in the steakhouse. We did mention it to Guest Services and on our post-cruise survey so I hope they've addressed it.

Hope this helps narrow it down for you!
