Hyatt Place vs Holiday Inn Express

I have narrowed down by choices for a 1-night pre-cruise stay in Ft. Lauderdale to the Hyatt Place or the Holiday Inn Express, both 17th/convention center locations, based on price/availability when I am traveling.

 

How do these two compare? Is one preferable to the other? They seem to be near each other -- is one better located than the other?

 

We want to be near shops (supermarket/drug store for last minute items) and restaurants. A shuttle from the airport is a plus -- I think both these properties have one.

I think the rooms are bigger at Hyatt Place.
