On The Run Posted June 29, 2005 #1 Share Posted June 29, 2005 I have heard so much about the different ways to identify BLACK luggage. I read that some folks painted pictures and all, that I can do, but, what kind of paint do you use if not in a spray can. Waiting for some information......................
Drumbum1977 Posted June 29, 2005 #2 Share Posted June 29, 2005 Yellow spray paint big smiley faces on them.
pungo3 Posted June 29, 2005 #3 Share Posted June 29, 2005 You can also spray paint a big red X on both sides if you don't want a smiley face. I prefer anything I think a thief would be embarrassed carrying away. ;)
dosi Posted June 29, 2005 #4 Share Posted June 29, 2005 I go to the fabric store and find the ugliest wide ribbon they have. I tie a long piece of the ugly ribbon to at least two places on each suitcase. The ribbon I currently have is bright yellow and orange in a horrible harliquin pattern. Trust me, I can pick my bags out of any pile of luggage.....I just keep scanning until I shudder....then I know I have seen that ribbon!! :D
Toto2Kansas Posted June 29, 2005 #5 Share Posted June 29, 2005 Remember, all of the luggage will be lined up, so it is best to find something that sticks out from the handle if you are wanting to identify it easier. They line them up side to side so if yours is wedged in, you won't be able to see the sides of it very easily.
britsbest Posted June 29, 2005 #6 Share Posted June 29, 2005 How complicated can it be? This is as repetitive as coffee threads !
SusieCruisie Posted June 29, 2005 #7 Share Posted June 29, 2005 I bought my Mom a set of Hot Pink luggage for Christmas. It was very affordable and I doubt too many people will have this color. After our last cruise, finding our luggage was so time consuming. I tie ribbons to mine and add sparkley luggage tags also.
arlenemilt Posted June 29, 2005 #8 Share Posted June 29, 2005 We use multicolored striped luggage straps and colored ribbons on both sides. Arlene

elmtree Posted June 30, 2005 #16 Share Posted June 30, 2005 We also got tired of looking for our black luggage, so my husband got wide silver duck tape and ran a strip all around the outsides of all each piece, and we had not trouble at all picking them out, and we can remove the tape and replace it anytime it gets worn or shabby, or if we ever find any glow in the dark red! m steve Posted June 30, 2005 #18 Share Posted June 30, 2005 I run a stripe of duct tape around the sides with a thin colored strip in the center so I can see it from any side and put a big silver X on front and back (in honor of Celebrity) so I can find it more easily. I wish there were some other material that would stick to the fabric bagsor the old fashioned travel stckers from hotels or cruise lines.
norskenancy Posted June 30, 2005 #19 Share Posted June 30, 2005 For those of you who do not paint, go to a craft store and go to the paint section. They have markers that have paint in them. This makes the whole mess alot easier. The one I have is called "Painters" Medium. They are by Hunt. This is a simple way to mark anything cloth. Lots of colors. Good luck Norske
Northender Posted June 30, 2005 #20 Share Posted June 30, 2005 go to a craft store :D ROFLMAO The only "craft" I know just lost his bling bling to President Putin:D Please, I am not making fun of you, I have friends that do wonderful things with crafty stuff. Maybe they will tell me where the craft store is :D
norskenancy Posted June 30, 2005 #21 Share Posted June 30, 2005 Actually, I got these types of paint markers at Wally world (walmart). If you have a Hobby Lobby they would have them also. I think a big skull and cross bones would be great to keep peoples hands off your luggage. What do you think?
DesrtDrmr Posted June 30, 2005 #22 Share Posted June 30, 2005 I think this would be a great class for Semester at Sea!!!!! Go with ribbons on handles, and decorate on the cruise! Of course, it might be $50.00 PLUS materials........... :D
norskenancy Posted June 30, 2005 #23 Share Posted June 30, 2005 I'll be happy to teach the class free of charge if they just let me cruise free.

spongerob Posted June 30, 2005 #25 Share Posted June 30, 2005 The simple way to make sure your bags are separated is to put a small amount of marijuana or hashish in each one. Someone will come along and put your bags in a special room for you. You will even receive a personal escort to retrieve them. The downside to this is that you might miss your flight home by three to five years. If you don't want all that special attention, just go to your parents or grandparents and borrow their 60's style really ugly hardsided luggage. It will stand out like a sore thumb. An added bonus is that any thief seeing such luggage will immediately assume you are too impoverished to have anything of value, and move on to more lucrative targets. ;) :)
