MR NW GUY Posted July 31, 2013 #26 Share Posted July 31, 2013 "Back in the day" how many options did you have to get food after dinner in the MDR was over? The captain slowed the ship down, we hung our fishing poles over the side of the ship while the women folk started the BBQ. Great midnight fun!
mcd2745 Posted July 31, 2013 #27 Share Posted July 31, 2013 It just goes to show you that the cruise lines are not afraid to eliminate time-honored cruising traditions...so here's to hoping that formal nights are next to go.

Try NCL - Nothing formal there....
travelplus Posted July 31, 2013 #29 Share Posted July 31, 2013 No Thank God too much waste in my opinion. I'm so full after dinner and snacks at the restaurants on board. Heck on my Navigator Of The Seas I was so full after eating at Cafe Promenade my nightly stopping off point after the show. Gee those ranger cookies were good. That won't go until the cruise line stops making money on the photo ops. When it is no longer a profit producing activity it will disappear faster than I can change my clothes after dinner. woodyren Posted July 31, 2013 #32 Share Posted July 31, 2013 Excess? Nah... it was major element of a cruise "back in the day" especially if you had early dinner and no other options.. I understand why the midnight buffets that began at 12:00 have gone away, but I have great memories! AM or PM
