Taxi Fare MSY to Port

We are staying close to the airport the night before our cruise. What should we expect to pay for taxi fare to the port? How far is it and what amount of time would it take?

There are set fees from the airport to downtown, but from somewhere else you would pay the meter rate, probably $25 - $30.

 

It's a 20 - 30 minute trip, depending on traffic.

I was $33 fixed in April. so, if it hasn't gone up, figure $38-40 total.

The airport is in Jefferson Parish (county to all the rest of the world) so you should be considered a "short" by the taxi lady standards. If the line is REALLY long then go up to the hailer and say you need a "short" since you are going to JP which has a separate shorter line. The taxi driver will cover the meter with a hat to avoid confusion but they are following instructions to follow the zone fare rates which are very reasonable.
