Embarkation Lunch in the Dining Room

I have enjoyed lunch on the first day since I board almost as soon as the boarding starts. The meals have been wonderful and very uncrowded. when we boarded the ship, the crew members told us that no MDR was open for lunch and directed us to the HC. Don't believe them!

Our experience is that the embarkation lunch can be one of the best meals of the cruise. Do they do it on the smaller ships, Pacific or Ocean Princess - headed out of Dover in a couple of weeks and would like to know if its worth boarding in time.

On our June cruise on the Ocean Princess the dining room was open for lunch.

Sabatini's is NOT open for lunch for anybody. The only exception, apparently is on the Royal (and next year the Regal) where Princess has stated that it will be open on Sea Days. No one has posted a menu or cost as if yet.

When Grand first entered service, Sabatini's was open for lunch as well.

We'll see how long it lasts on Royal...
