Are we too young for HAL?

If I'm not mistaken, one of the reasons the night life on HAL isn't too active in Alaska is because most of the short excursions start early in the morning? After a long active day outdoors it's sometimes difficult to stay up all night partying. LOL Just my observation :)

Are you truly too young for HA? Just trying to picture David Letterman doing one of his Top Ten lists with this topic. #1. You are too young for HA unless one of your feet is in the grave. #2. You are too young for HA if you can stay awake after 9pm. etc. etc.

True, that and the time difference if you are an east coast person kind of puts you behind the eight ball. We didn't stay up late on the Alaska cruise either, it felt like we were up till 1AM when it was only 9PM...etc. etc.

My last trip on HAL was a Transatlantic. I was so bored I nearly got off in Funchal. Except for the die-hards in the casino, I was the only passenger I ever saw awake after midnight, for the entire trip. Even 10PM, very few.

And I have a friend who travels with her mother on HAL because her mother really likes HAL. They're Left Coast people who do Mexican itineraries, same time zone. Even though my friend knows roughly what to expect, her last trip, she was lamenting the zero nightlife (her mother has some health issues and isn't very active).

I'm 63, my travel agent insists that's the average age for HAL- I couldn't believe that half these people are actually younger than I am! My friend is a few years younger, likes dancing but otherwise but not really a party animal.
