HDMI ports on cabin TVs

No offense, but seeing alot of threads on TV's makes you wonder why go on a cruise if the TV is so important...stay home, save your money and watch the TV 24/7...

Well, for those who have young children, it's somewhat important. Also, there are those of us who do enjoy relaxing after dinner in the cabin and watching a movie. It's not 24/. Not everyone has the same cruise experience that you do. They like to do different things, enjoy their vacation in different ways, relax in their own way...

So, too bad, offense taken.

The OP asked a question. As fellow CCers, if we chose to respond, it should be to offer a helpful response, not judge the question posted. Other posters have offered a number of reasons a person might want to hook into the HDMI - hope that satisfied your curiosity.

As for myself, thank you OP for the question as you have been provided with several options that will be very helpful to me as well. :)

Just wondering if you noticed that the post you are offended by was made over two years ago.

Lately a lot of old threads have been dug up on different boards. Like answering outdated questions from 2007. Cruise Critic should consider locking old question threads like their parent company does on TripAdvisor.

That possibility was discussed with the moderators a few months ago with no success. I felt that locking it after a year's inactivity would prevent some of the confusion that results when old information is treated as current, but the mods didn't see the need for change. Their prerogative.

Regardless of WHEN it was posted, that does not lessen the offense taken.

Wow, touchy...and after deise17311 recognized that he/she was wrong...2 years ago.

I see all your perspectives...I was wrong...thanks for pointing it out...all points taken!

It's very easy to setup the Samsung TV's in your stateroom. I bring my kindle fireHD and run movies through it to the TV. Just use the remote to select the input port.

Easy Peasy, lemon squeezie!

On which ship and when did you have success with this? I hope Reflection's stateroom TV's are as easy as your experience when we go in Dec! :)
