Aquarium, Alesund Norway

Hi there,

 

Can anyone give me any info on this aquarium? Thinking of taking our three children there when we stop off in Alesund. The website for it isn't great. Has anyone been? Was going to do it ourselves as the RCI excursion is very expensive.

 

Any info would be great.

We visited last year and really enjoyed it, went on a ship's excursion because it's quite a distance from the ships. The excursion also took us for a tour of Ålesund with a very informative guide. I didn't take any photos of the building or displays- but here are some of the fish and penguins...

You can take a "Aquarium bus" from the center of town to the Aquarium.

The hop on/off bus also take you to the Aquarium in addition to many interesting highlights of Ålesund.

Cruise ships dock very near the local bus terminal. I was there a couple of weeks ago and did see a local bus with Aquarium as its destination (different from the shuttles or HoHos), but I'm unsure of the route or time involved.

We went last year. It vey nice and the bus is very reliable, goes every 1/2 hour.
