scuba diving in Haiti

ummmmm ......

at RCL's Labadee they do not offer SCUBA

your problem with SCUBA in Haiti is finding a dive shop . . . if you have all your own gear AND a boat . . . . many of my trips to Haiti I have had these at hand ...

there's undoubtedly good diving to be found but it will be away from the developed areas where the water is polluted due to lack of standard services and the seas have been over fished for many many years. remember this is a place where even the trees have been so over harvested that every rain causes severe erosion.

There are a few resorts popular with Europeans on the north coast near Cap Haitien, which IS close to Labadee .... but last time I looked RCL did not offer a dive excursion at L'dee.....

when you visit Lab'dee thru RCL, you don't get to leave the compound ... you can't go to Cap H . .

I think they have an excursion to the town of Labadee now as a short tour, but you can't book independent tours.
