russianmom Posted August 8, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 8, 2013 If the streetcars are $1.25 and there are 4 of us can we just give a $5 bill or do we need the $1 and .25 for each person? Thought about the Jazzy passes but we will only be there Sat afternoon before we board Sunday am… Or maybe it's worth it???
Budget Queen Posted August 9, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 9, 2013 Yes, no problem paying for 4 with a $5 bill.
Budget Queen Posted August 9, 2013 #3 Share Posted August 9, 2013 Only you can determine if the pass would be worthwhile? What do you plan to do, the passes are also good on the buses. With only one day, you might want to have some plans in place for your activities. That would help you figure out how many times you are using transportation. New Orleans is certainly a great walking city. :)
smurfm69 Posted August 9, 2013 #4 Share Posted August 9, 2013 The Jazzy Pass is good for both the St. Charles streetcar and the riverfront streetcar. If you think you will ride a couple times or more it would be best to get the pass.
russianmom Posted August 10, 2013 Author #5 Share Posted August 10, 2013 Thanks for the replies. We will be arriving around 11-12. Our hotel is on the edge of the FQ. Plan to walk over to the French Market, find some lunch and maybe take the kids to the Aquarium. Usually like to take a streetcar ride thru the Garden District. In the morning will grab a quick bite and the ladies/kids will take the streetcar to the port(i know we'll still have to navigate a little) while the men take the luggage in a taxi. I'm open to any/all suggestions. I'll be my 4th time here but our friends first. Unfortunately we'll be there during NBA All-Star weekend :(
