sail7seas Posted August 12, 2013 #26 Share Posted August 12, 2013 We loved our day in Tracy Arm on Oosterdam. Was a day we will long remember. So beautiful.
cmjaffe Posted August 13, 2013 Author #27 Share Posted August 13, 2013 Didn't realize there's open waters on this itinerary.... now having second thoughts since I was trying to convince Libby to go, thinking it would be calm like inside passage And we've got a verandah on hold till tomorrow... I'm recovering from a head injury so not sure how I'll be may need to rethink this one quickly and probably do land based trip.... think London's calling Thanks for the advice Really appreciate it Carolyn
NoobCruise Posted August 13, 2013 #28 Share Posted August 13, 2013 We could definitely feel the motion sailing out of Seattle. I was a little sea sick our first sea day despite using meds. You could totally feel the calm the morning we sailed into Juneau. Big difference

Rare Copper10-8 Posted August 13, 2013 #30 Share Posted August 13, 2013 Definitely having some second thoughts nowand more closely looking at inside cabin No worries! Some motion in the ocean? Sure, at times, but minor, nothing major! The "Say high to Ralph bags" never came out at the elevator bays in nine weeks:)
cmjaffe Posted August 13, 2013 Author #31 Share Posted August 13, 2013 Well glad the "bags" didn't come out... but right now I'm dealing with DD who has major anxiety... who's had Norwalk twice on cruises (the only time we had balcony so she equates it to that too). Now I'm trying to figure out if we should just do an inside and "take it easy". TIA Carolyn
NoobCruise Posted August 13, 2013 #32 Share Posted August 13, 2013 No worries! Some motion in the ocean? Sure, at times, but minor, nothing major! The "Say high to Ralph bags" never came out at the elevator bays in nine weeks:) They were out on our first sea day. When we stepped onto the elevator to go to dinner, there was a crew member on her radio saying they needed a clean up in the hall way of deck 3 because someone had gotten sick in the hallway. The next day, when we went to the gangway, there were a couple of fans blowing on the carpet.
LVSue Posted August 13, 2013 #33 Share Posted August 13, 2013 I can see how having Noro twice would give you the heeby-jeebies about cruises! I sailed with my grandson totally inside passage from Vancouver to Seward, mid July and midships, and he was seasick the whole time. (No Noro) was it all in his head? Maybe... But he still felt bad.
