bookbabe Posted August 14, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 14, 2013 I assume you're looking for recommendations of tour operators? Because there's really only one place to "do" the stingrays. Stingray City is a section of sandbar out in the ocean that the stingrays visit, historically to eat the scraps as fishermen clean their catch, and in the present day to mooch snacks off the tourists. You have to take a boat or watercraft of some kind to get there, thus the need for an organized excursion. If you read the other threads in this forum with "stingrays" or "stingray city" in the title, you will find tons of reviews and recommendations for excursions. 58Piano Posted September 6, 2013 #3 Share Posted September 6, 2013 Look up Moby Dick Tours. Sounds nice. Only $45 Half the boat is shaded. Free water and punch. Small number of people. Sounds nice. We are going to try it in a few weeks.
kpeck21085 Posted September 6, 2013 #4 Share Posted September 6, 2013 I have gone on the Stingray experience with the original tour company that started it all in Grand Caymen - Captain Marvin. It was wonderul and you could tell they had the priority over all the other tours in the water. https://www.captainmarvins.com
wantocruisemore Posted September 7, 2013 #5 Share Posted September 7, 2013 We're doing Stingray Sailing the end of the month. Large catamaran limited to no more than 25 people. We liked this for something different.
wrcjr98 Posted September 7, 2013 #6 Share Posted September 7, 2013 My first choice was MarineLand Tours, because their boat had actual stairs off of the back of their boat instead of a ladder, but, they were booked out 4 months before our cruise, so, I have booked with Native Way. Our tour includes the trip to Stingray City, as well as a land tour of the island - I'm looking forward to it!

Been with the 3 time and going back in Oct. Small groups on the boat not like some of the others.
