Halifax- Pub Crawl?

A buddy of mine visited Halifax a few years ago and participated in a "Pub Crawl" held in Halifax. A bunch of folks get together at a particular bar and make the rounds through the streets of the city visiting other watering holes. I believe you can also dress in local wear like rain gear and pirate gear if you wish. anyone familiar with this? Its not part of any ship excursion and I hope its a daytime activity.

Royal C offers a Pub Tour. Wife and I are going to do it ourselves. Below is an "unofficial" pub tour that someone had put together and posted on these boards while researching for my upcoming trip. Below that is some other places of interest. The time listed in the time that they open.

I used to live in Halifax and did the odd pub crawl with friends and co-workers. Usually you get a group t-shirt or occasionally have a theme. Here is a link to a website that will arrange one for you (I'm personally not familiar with this company) http://www.eastcoastpubcrawls.com/#Home

 

The key to a successful pub crawl is to have a route and to stick to it. You should contact the various pubs to make reservations if you are more than 6 people.

 

Things to add to the pub crawl since you'll be walking:

 

1) Public Gardens

2) Citadel Hill

3) Halifax Waterfront

 

If I were to do a pub crawl this would be my route:

 

1) Garrison - Right at the pier

2) Henry House

3) Foggy Goggle

4) Walk across Citadel Hill

5) Propeller Brewing

6) Lower Deck

7) The Old Triangle Ale House

8) Keiths Tour and/or Red Stag Tavern (both in the brewery market)

9) Stagger back to the ship... : )
