Butler/concierge

Check out the wording, and see if perhaps it says "all other items will have to be confirmed once onboard" or something to that effect. That's what my emails have said on previous sailings, yet every item or service I requested had already been addressed and completed before we boarded. Don't lose hope. ;)

Call or email the pre-cruise service again, and advise them of your desire to be on the list. There is no guarantee, but the info WILL get to the Concierge before you board. We've done this in the past, and our names were on the list, but too many were on the list before us, so we still didn't make it. Despite our experience, it never hurts to have your desires known prior to boarding.

Happy sailing!

Yep, just reread it. Says, "All other requests are to be confirmed onboard".

I did request pre-cruise about wanting the Chefs Table at the same time I requested pillows, etc. His e-mailed reply back to me was, "Unfortunately, we do not pre-reserve seats for the Chef’s Table, this offering is strictly confirmed once onboard."

So, we'll just wait and see what happens. Either way.....I'm going to have a GREAT cruise!

Wonderful! I have no doubt you are going to have a spectacular time. I mean, really... you're on a ship! :D

I called pre-concierge. They sent me an e-mail with the requests I can make in regard to pillows, tea and coffee, towels, etc. I e-mailed them back with my requests also letting them know I'd like the fridge emptied, special treats I'd like and those I'd prefer not to have. I also requested egg crates for the beds and to have them separated and to have some ice tea and chocolate croissants in the room for us. I received an e-mail back telling me that my requests for Pillows, coffee/tea and towels are all set and anything else will have to be requested once on the ship.

I guess I'll have to ask the butler or room steward to separate the bed, put egg crates on them, empty the fridge, etc. and I guess I won't have ice tea and croissants waiting for us in the room!

And another quick question.......I'd like to go directly and try to get on the Chefs table list for the two of us......but according to the letter it said we will be escorted onboard where our butler will be waiting to escort us to the suites lounge to meet our concierge Leah. Wondering how much time that will take or if we can make a pit stop at the front desk to put our names down for that chefs table first!

It might be done differently at each port but, when we've boarded in NY, the concierge has been in the VIP lounge. We did the Chef's Table last year and we asked the concierge while we were waiting to make a reservation for us and it was taken care of. We had a confirmation in our cabin that evening.

Once I got the letter and luggage tags, I sent an email to the ncl concierge department that they sent. They emailed me back with choices for pillows, coffee, tea and extra towels.

They also indicated that the concierge could make any dinner or spa reservations. I don't know if it is possible, but was going to see if we could reserve spa passes, but it may be like the Chef's table where it has to be reserved once onboard?

When I received the email from the concierge, I was a little disappointed with the options offered and felt that the amenities could be best managed as a check off list attached to your booking - something akin to Princess Cruise Personalizer. DH enjoys flavored coffee, the only options were regular or decaf. Neither of us are tea drinkers, outside of an occasional glass of fresh brewed iced tea. Yes, I requested extra towels - something I could have asked once on the ship, same with the pillows.

When I first called the concierge desk, it was to make reservations for a la carte dining and entertainment. The person with whom I spoke took my requests and then said she would email a complete list to me. After two days wait, I had not received anything, so I sent an email to Darius who responded the following day with the list. I again repeated my requests for amenities, dining and entertainment. His response was to note these and any other requests would be confirmed onboard. He did mention that Ruth would be our concierge and he did provide specific instructions for Haven guests to follow when arriving at the pier in NYC. My in suite snack requests, empty fridge, etc., were never noted. We'll see what happens in September.

While it is nice to order certain things ahead, it is really not necessary. We've cruised in suites a number of times and requests were always very efficiently taken care of. We have always found (with one butler exception) service to be excellent.
