All-inclusive with a 3 year old

Looking for ideas for all-inclusive excursions (private, not Carnival). Some ideal attractions would include kids play area, kids water area, pool, beach, drinks (hey, the adults want to have fun too!), food, snorkel. Trying to stay in the $50 range. Some places we've looked at online that have potential include Nachi Cocom, Playa Mia (if we can do this without booking through Carnival, it's probably at the top of our list).

There are 5 ships in Cozumel the day we're there, so somewhere off the beathen path might be helpful due to crowds. Has anyone done a resort daypass? This is something we're considering too. We don't cruise until Janary, but also want to have plenty of time to start some research. Thanks so much for any suggestions!!

I'm sure you have probably seen my link from the other thread, but with a 3 year old, I would suggest Playa Mia. I did not know until here recently that you can book with another company outside of Carnival (according to reports on here). :( So we paid the full price. But, it was still worth it, especially if you have young children. There is so much to do there from the ocean/beach to the pool(s) to the water slides, to the kiddie water park. :)

The main thing about Nachi would be the 100 person limit per day, over other AI's and Beach Clubs.

As a HUGE Nachi fan, it is NOT very child friendly. (my brother's twins had a boring day there when they were 2 1/2.)

Here is the link for the non-cruise line excursion for Play Mia...

If I had kids, I know I would definitely try Playa Mia.

Just remember you won't find everything on your list at one place...

Snorkeling is better closer to the piers, where the beaches are rockier.

Money Bar or Chankanaab.

The further south you go, the sandier the beaches get and the poorer the snorkeling. (Playa Mia, Mr. Sanchos and Nachi are all right in a row and the snorkeling is poor.)

If snorkeling is a must, Chankanaab might give you enough of everything, except the kiddie pool areas, to satisfy your group.

If the kiddie pools, slides and a nice beach are paramount, then Playa Mia sounds closer to what you are looking for...

COZUMEL BEACH CLUBS

Here are the links to the various beach clubs I have...

Nachi Cocum - my personal favorite.. AI, 100 person limit, very peaceful and quiet. (great for adult couples looking for a relaxing day)

Mr. Sanchos - right next door to Nachi- AI or not, a little more lively with music playing and livelier crowd.

Playa Mia - right near Mr. Sanchos - great for kids with waterslides, large kiddie pool, adult pools, etc...

Paradise Beach - no admission, but must buy $10 food pp to use beach chairs, pool etc.. Water toys for kids...

Chankanaab Park, great shore snorkeling, pool, dolphin excursions, etc..

Money Bar - free- great shore snorkeling, but no beach or other amenities.

Many other beach clubs to choose from.

Literally a club for every taste and budget.

Here is some daypasses offered.

Whatever you choose, I hope your group has a great day in Cozumel.

This is exactly what I was looking for...you folks are AMAZING!

Snorkeling isn't a top priority because we're stopping in Roatan and Belize also. I'm mostly looking for something fun for the little guy since it will be our last port and I want to ensure he has a good time. Playa Mia looks like our best option and knowing I can book without going through Carnival makes it all the better.

I'm still trying to talk my Brother into taking his twins to Playa Mia in April, while the adults play at Nachi Cocum.

I know if I was 15 or under, I'd go bananas at Playa Mia, after I saw how cool the kiddie pool and slides area was.

We did Nachi last year with a 2.5 year old. We are doing it again in October since it was such a great day last year. I think it depends on your child/children. Mine was content swimming and playing with sand toys the entire time. He enjoyed the food as well. When he is a bit older I'm sure the places with the extensive water play areas will be a huge hit.

  • 2 weeks later...

I have the same question but my son will be 4 y/o at the time of sail. I was thinking about Playa Mia. The website looks like it could be alot of fun. Does it have parasailing? I didnt see any prices. Is it free or there is a charge to enter?

BTW, how do you find out what ships and/or how many will be docked at the port the same time as us?

Yes, there is a charge and they have several different packages. You can book with your cruise ship or privately (which has already been listed in this thread with a link). ;)

You can find out how many ships by using this website.
