sarahc78 Posted August 19, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 19, 2013 This is my first time having booked a group cruise and I'm a little confused regarding price drops. We have about 15 rooms and noticed a pretty nice price drop before final payment (roughly $450 per room) Would we be eligible to take advantage of that price drop? kitty9 Posted August 19, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 19, 2013 The only way to know for sure is to call Celebrity and ask.
Wine-O Posted August 19, 2013 #3 Share Posted August 19, 2013 This is my first time having booked a group cruise and I'm a little confused regarding price drops. We have about 15 rooms and noticed a pretty nice price drop before final payment (roughly $450 per room) Would we be eligible to take advantage of that price drop? Yes! We are booked with a group rate, and the rate we got is lower than what Celebrity was offering. Our TA told us that if the price goes under the group rate, we could get the lower price, before final payment, of course.:)
Orator Posted August 19, 2013 #4 Share Posted August 19, 2013 Sometimes "yes", sometimes "no". Group Sales is a separate division and has their own price structure as I once learned the hard way. Your TA will know that answer to your question and can talk to Celebrity if necessary. Call Celebrity if you booked with them and they have your reservation. All you'll get on this board are "opinions", some better than others.
CPT Trips Posted August 19, 2013 #5 Share Posted August 19, 2013 You may find you take a hit on the group perq . . .
ariawoman Posted August 19, 2013 #6 Share Posted August 19, 2013 You should be able to take the new pricing however as someone else mentioned you might impact any perks you were receiving, so make sure to run through it all before making the decision on switching prices. Good luck! I changed prices this weekend for a group for May 2014 as the prices dropped drastically, had no issues in doing so.
Bell Ringer Posted August 20, 2013 #7 Share Posted August 20, 2013 We had a group land tour and cruise for Alaska scheduled for summer 2014. When I saw a lower price on it, I asked my TA, and after contacting the Group planner for Celebrity, I was told they don't give price changes for groups. In the past when we organized travel with RCI , they would give lower prices before final payment.. Until the changes of no price allowance after final payment, we used to get price changes anytime. No more.
