how much do you have to paly to get comps on carnival and NCL

It varies. You get faster comps on Carnival if you play slots and video poker. You can also earn free drinks for your cruise once you accumulate 1500 points. Make sure you put your sign-n-sail card in the machine while you play to earn the points. I don't know about NCL, I haven't sailed with them in 10 years.
You can also earn the drinks on us card for 1,000 points earned on a 5 night cruise.

Wondering how much you have to play to get the 1500 points and free drink card? If I play a dollar slot with 1 dollar in it 1500 times will that earn 1500 points? Would be nice to earn one of these cards early in the cruise and take advantage of the free drinks.

Hi, Albo. I don't really know many dollars of play equals 1500 points, but I can tell you that the slot machine will display your total points so you can keep up with it as you play.

Alternatively, you might consider booking a Carnival Premier cruise which includes the casino free drink card from day one. Does Carnival have your correct snail mail address and email address so that you will receive casino offers like this? I see you have sailed Carnival a couple of times. If you need to update these, you can do it on Carnival's website after logging in.

My last cruise was comped thru the casino had free drink cards and 700.00 in casino cash. The casino hosts were great this was a premier casino cruise there was over 400 gamblers on this cruise. I won 1000.00 in the drawing and hit the same slot machine 2 times for jackpots also got another free cruise which is booked. So the casino is catching up.

I'm not positive about carnival's money in/point equivalence, but on NCL it's 1 point for each $5.00 on regular slots and 1 point per $10.00 on video poker. I think I remember someone saying carnival's conversion was lower, but definitely not $1.00 = 1 point!

Last I was told it's 2.50=1point

Good on you for what you're getting comped. I don't play much in the casino, maybe a few hundred a cruise, but a co-worker that usually goes with me drops several thousand, usually donating it all, every cruise. Don't think he's ever been given much. We did get a bottle of wine one night at dinner, and he's received flowers and chocolate covered strawberries in his room. He did receive a free drink card 2 cruises ago which is the 1st time I've seen one, having heard about them on here. We just got off a cruise this weekend and have another in 2 weeks and they gave him a $50 casino credit for each cruise. Guess it all depends on how much you're spending and like you said, how close the pit bosses are paying attention to your play.

Well, i have been on 3 cruises last one was 2 years ago. the first cruise i gambled some and basically broke even. Heard about the players club. So the second cruise i called up and my wife got i think like 400 bucks and fruit basket. well the second cruise my wife and i lost about 3 grandon a 5 day cruise. we did not even get an reduced rate cruise. 3rd cruise my wife and i brought more money on to gamble since it was 7 day cruise we came off the boat with about 900 bucks of our 7+grand. waited about a month or 2 after the crusie to see what we have qualified for. well they told me i did not qualify for anything. So i requested our win loss statements and found out why. Seems there pit bosses do not know how to properly track players and what they start with or end with. The win loss statement said i broke even on my last 2 cruises. Well that prompted a nasty letter to the players club stating everything what i started with money wise. I did not stretch the truth cause the win loss says what i started with was basically right. Just did not have the proper losses on it. I was not gambling to get a free cruise cause hell they would be cheaper than me gambling as much as i did. Well that prompted phone calls from the players club and long talk with someone from there. Forgot who i talked cause it was 2 years ago. Anyway since then they have been sending free inside staterooms since. Have not taken them up on there offers including those premier casino cruises with about 1500 bucks cash when they opened.

Now i was not gambling for the perks, but come on now if you want to keep those cruising that like to gamble happy then at least show the players some love to keep them cruising and on your line. I stopped cruising the last 2 years and tried all inclusive resorts without casinos in them and loved them. But i have caved and booked one of there free cruise offer for june of next year.

It's the exception, rather than the rule, that Carnival accurately tracks my win/loss. They are often off by multiple thousands. When they are off it has ALWAYS shown that I lost less than I did.

Losing so far this cruise, but doing WAY better than some I've been on! :)

Some cruise lines have a lot to learn about comps and how to treat players that carry 10k onboard to basically lose (or have fun trying) and Carnival is one of them. For the last few cruises this has saved me money and I gamble here in AC. Its a funny thing they could make so much more profit with such little investment like making the free drinks in the casino a little more easier to get or that $50 fruit basket should be automatic and a few free pictures and strawberries in your stateroom or maybe a bottle of wine at dinner from the casino host. All things that are so cheap but keep players happy, spending money and LOYAL

We were on Splendor for our first CCL cruise. My wife played penny slots each day. She received free drinks first day without hitting 1500 points, free bottle of wine 3 nights, and Steakhouse comp one night. She got the letter for free 7 night balcony cruise plus $300 casino cash. We didn't use it. They really were generous to someone who played penny slots and didn't win or lose much. Kudos.

1 point = $2.50 in slot play or $5.00 in video poker play. So 3,750 $1 slot plays would give you 1,500 points.

Puzzling: got off the Legend on Nov 3rd, then went on a premier cruise on Legend on Nov 10th. There were 3 quarter slots I liked playing on the first cruise. But when I went back for the 2nd cruise these three slots were now a dollar. Is this how they can afford to give such good perks for the premier cruises by raising the slots

regardless we had a great cruise

first I admit I haven't read the entire thread, but I do have a question and hope it hasn't been asked...

do they treat craps players well? I do play black jack, but my game of choice is craps. I know 'rating' on craps varies tremendously between casinos...if they rate odds or just place bets and so on. I usually end up with more on the layout than I would expect, but I just didn't know if this got attention like play at a blackjack table where it always seems a supervisor is lurking.

Granted I'm not a black or purple chip player (yet), but it does add up when you have action on nearly every number and the pass with odds stacked up.
