cruzn buckeye Posted August 26, 2013 #26 Share Posted August 26, 2013 Personally, I wouldn't cancel. That way if there is a change of heart, grandchild can still go along. Also less hassle... go to the pier, something came up and the third person will not be there. Much easier to deal with, and no chance of losing your cabin choice. The4Cruisers Posted August 26, 2013 #27 Share Posted August 26, 2013 Depending on the room, could they also be bumped to a different room if they cancel the 3rd person? Highly unlikely, but possible?
cruzn buckeye Posted August 26, 2013 #28 Share Posted August 26, 2013 Depending on the room, could they also be bumped to a different room if they cancel the 3rd person? Highly unlikely, but possible? Yes, it is possible. It happened on our cruise last year. We had two cabins booked. One had three people. One had two. One of the three had to cancel because of family issues, So they moved the two that were left into a two person cabin. Now, we had booked our cabins side by side in hopes of opening the balconys. They called to get changed back, but they wouldnt do it because it was a three person cabin. The the third persons issues were resolved and they could go after all. They were able to add her back to the cabin, but her fare changed. They were booked Early Saver, and when they added her back, it was no longer available. So they did give her the past guest rate which she qualified for. However, the cabin beside us was now booked. So yes, it can and does happen.
