Goldenfox Posted August 28, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 28, 2013 Any recent cruisers on Triumph can advise on what toiletries are provided? I read they've stopped providing hair conditioner...is that true? Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app
falkcor Posted August 28, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 28, 2013 shampoo and body wash in the shower. bar soap on the countertop. don't count on anything else. they've never provided conditioner on a reliable basis. there may be other stuff in the 'basket' but don't count on anything in particular. maybe razor, toothpaste, snoring strips, other samples, but varies widely. GlendaleCruiser Posted August 28, 2013 #3 Share Posted August 28, 2013 Yes, the offerings in the basket are iffy. You never know what you will get because they are samples provided by the marketing departments of those companies. I always bring my own shampoo and conditioner and body wash, but their body wash is not bad. I don't ever remember getting conditioner.
Georgiagolfer Posted August 28, 2013 #4 Share Posted August 28, 2013 Never had conditioner in room on any cruise. Toiletries very limited last few years. Haven't seen a razor provided in at least 2-3 years.
ready2cruzagain Posted August 28, 2013 #5 Share Posted August 28, 2013 Definitely bring your own conditioner. Our toiletry basket last time was 2 nose strips and a small tube of lotion...nothing else.
Aplmac Posted August 28, 2013 #6 Share Posted August 28, 2013 We got a (nice flavor!) Crest toothpaste among other stuff, but no razor! .
funinthesun1964 Posted August 28, 2013 #7 Share Posted August 28, 2013 I bring my own small bottle of conditioner. The shampoo in they provide always dries my hair out. Some times you have one thing, another time it's another, but the nose strips seem to be a regular item In the basket on our last few cruises. RuthlessBoss Posted August 28, 2013 #8 Share Posted August 28, 2013 I bring my own small bottle of conditioner. The shampoo in they provide always dries my hair out. Some times you have one thing, another time it's another, but the nose strips seem to be a regular item In the basket on our last few cruises. I noticed the nose strips too. I bring all my needs now from shower gel, shampoo, hair spray etc in travel size or repackage my own stuff into small bottles. I've yet to run out of my supplies I brought. Doing it this way, you get to bring your favorite brands of things.
near the beach Posted August 28, 2013 #9 Share Posted August 28, 2013 I have never seen hair conditioner as a freebee. We always bring our own travel size products for each of us.
Goldenfox Posted August 28, 2013 Author #10 Share Posted August 28, 2013 Great, thanks for the info! Good thing I thought to ask. I didn't see it posted on their site, like HAL does. You would think a cruiseline that does so many warm weather destinations and have so many pools would provide that. Ahh well, it must be one of the ways they keep prices reasonable. Thanks again for confirming! Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app
Jimmy Geegitz Posted August 28, 2013 #11 Share Posted August 28, 2013 Yea the scraps in the basket get worse every cruise. They should just take the basket out.
wrigley80 Posted August 28, 2013 #12 Share Posted August 28, 2013 The shampoo in the shower dries my hair out and the body wash dries my skin out. We always bring our own stuff....you can't rely on what you are gonna get in your toiletry basket in your cabin
SkyMaster Posted August 28, 2013 #13 Share Posted August 28, 2013 Just sailed "Paradise", and we even got samples of "Iced Tea Mix" in the basket, as well as the other "normal" stuff, like the snoring strips, etc. (The iced tea is VERY GOOD!) :D "SKY"
detroitlions Posted August 28, 2013 #14 Share Posted August 28, 2013 I think you get more from a cheap hotel. I agree with the person that said throw out the basket so people get used to not getting anything. I used to like the free razor but the only thing I ever use now is the nose strip. It does not bother me too much but my DW brings up what is in there every time. she has to lug all the toiletries with her every trip like shampoo conditioner and face soap she says the ones provided are like dollar store stuff.
