Hotel on Palm Beach with a day pass

Radisson is no longer selling day passes. I love the little grass huts on the beach and would like to spend a day there. Do you know of a hotel offerring day passes?

The last I knew the Riu sold all inclusive day passes for $100 per person, however it is not listed at http://www.cruisecritic.com/articles.cfm?ID=1100

 

So on Palm Beach that leaves the Occidental.

Wow, which one would you prefer for a family of 6 with teenagers and kids?

If money were no object, being that you are a group, I would try to get day passes to Renaissance Island. It will save taxi fare and the Renaissance is easy walking distance from the cruise terminal. Have a plan B though should they be sold out of day passes, or not be offering them because their occupancy is too high.

 

Depending upon the ages of the children, if the amount is feasible, De Palm Island http://www.depalmtours.com/de-palm-island would be a consideration. They offer an all inclusive package. Little kids would love the waterpark and big kids would enjoy the snorkeling and banana boat rides.

 

I have to be honest, a day pass no matter where for a group is going to be expensive. When our family was in a similar circumstance, after considering all of our options, we ended up taking two taxis to Palm Beach. We had the taxis drop us off at the walkway between the Riu and Radisson resorts. It leads you out to the beach and De Palm Pier. Just to the immediate right there are two vendors who rent chairs, umbrellas, floats and offer watersports activities as well.

 

I believe the price of chaises is now $10-$12. They also rent umbrellas.

 

Taxi fare is $11 each way from Oranjestad to Palm Beach for a maximum of 5 people each way. That is per taxi, not per person. There is an additional charge of $3 for Sunday or holidays.

 

At the end of De Palm Pier is Bugaloe http://www.bugaloe.com/ Their prices for food and beverage or more reasonable than the Radisson. You could also bring a soft sided cooler with your own beverages or bottled water.

 

When you break it down renting the chaises and umbrellas on your own and even adding on the cost of lunch and some watersports, unless your kids are huge eaters, it will almost always come out less expensive than a day pass.

From what u was told by de palm tours if I'm on a cruise they make us book on the hip. They don't book cruse passengers.
