14 day or more past cruisers I have some ?'s

My family and I are looking into a 14 day Bermuda/Bahamas Sept 28th cruise on the beautiful (I just got off of) Breakaway!

 

I just need to know a few things, if you could help I would greatly appreciate any input!:)

 

First, when you arrive back from the first week, and have to disembark what is the process if your staying for the second week?

 

For the second week, do menus, shows, and activities aboard the ship change? I would think so:confused:??

For the most part ...no. They repeat the schedule weekly and make minor tweaks during the season.

We do B2Bs often travelling from the UK -

What you miss first week - you do 2nd week

What you LOVED first week - you get to do again.

Ports - plan your port stops over two weeks - so do some the first leg, some the 2nd

To be clear, this OP is about a back-to-back, and not about a 14 day (or whatever) voyage. Remember that not everyone on your particular B2B cruise is actually doing a B2B!

I would think there might only be a few doing the B2B. Have heard of maybe 100 or so on certain cruises. Most folks only can do a week at a time. Second cruise will seem pretty much like the first. Actually, our last half dozen cruises seem similar.

 

When you return to NY - you will have to disembark and go through customs/immigration and then reboard. No mention if you are changing cabins.

 

If you want, you can walk into NYC, etc and return a bit later.

Usually your walked off as a group and processed right back on. If your staying in the same staterooms that's it, if your moving they will help you get from the original stateroom to the new on.

The food and shows will remain the same unless an entertainer is ending the same week as your first. Do your planning to make the best of it, spread your dining out and make your show schedule work for you.

Doesn't matter whether it is billed as B2B or a 14 day when you return to a U.S. port you must disembark the ship; pass U.S.Customs, go through the security check and reboard the ship. It is a simple, hassle free process.

Remember OP is talking about B2B Bermuda AND Bahamas, meaning they are going in last cruise of season to Bermuda the first week and then on first cruise of season to the Bahamas the second week.

 

OP, yes, you HAVE to get off ship to go thru the US Immigration (but not Customs).

 

You have 2 options:

 

1) you wait with the B2B crowd in a specific place and get escorted off the ship to go thru Immigration and then reboard the ship before the new pax.

 

2) you get off earlier yourselves to go thru Immigration to sightsee and then return to the terminal long before the sail time. You must have a valid cruisepass (meaning the disembark date on it is the last day of your 2nd week) to do that.

 

No need to take your luggage off ship.

 

Funny, we were thinking about doing the B2B Bermuda/Bahamas this year, but circumstances have changed that we have to skip the October cruises. Maybe next year - hopefully the prices will go down!!
