Wow!! I think the black and may be my fave!! We had an opportunity to visit Dominica back in 2010 when we Allied on the Victory out of San Juan but we didn't visit any beaches just checked out the area near the port. What a treat! And unless I am mistaken Carnival doesn't sail to Dominica anymore. Boo hoo!!:(

We were sailing on the Victory in Feburary 2010 when we visited Dominica. I think they dropped it a very short time later. We just hired a taxi for the 4 of us, cost us $20 each and took us on an all day trip. Loved it.

Beautiful beach at Disney's Castaway Cay. You can tell in the first picture that the wind is blowing. 20 minutes after I took these pictures a storm came through with high winds, a couple of downpours and a temperature drop of about 20 degrees.

I rarely visit beaches when cruising, even in the Caribbean...I may pass a beach, or briefly walk on one to get where I'm going, but I don't go with the intent to actually VISIT the beach or stay there. Primary reason is because I live in a beach town, so I can go to the beach any time, any day! Here's my local beach:

 

 

One of the rare exceptions would be Half Moon Cay, which I admit has some pretty ridiculously perfect sand and water:

Long Bay Beach in Antigua was our stop after a tour of the island. Beautiful sky coloured water with white sandy beach...
