Warm Breezes Posted September 10, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 10, 2013 Any one use Theris Dixon for their island tour? Good? Bad? Any info you'd care to share. Thanks.
Warm Breezes Posted October 29, 2013 Author #2 Share Posted October 29, 2013 Well I never got a response to this post but we did a private tour with Theris Dixon Tours anyways....and we were very pleased with the tour. Theris herself was our tour guide and she met us just outside the pier gates. Theris gave us the option of taking us where ever we wanted to go to and we would just need to pay the entrance fees where necessary. The base cost of her tour itself was $40 pp. DH are not big on swimming, snorkeling, zip-lining or monkeys. We just wanted an in-depth tour of the island with a little shopping....and that is exactly what she gave us. Our tour started in a grocery store where could see the types of products sold and we could purchase a bottle of water. Paid $1 USD for the water and received $9 in Honduras in change (cheap souvenir to bring back to DS). She made multiple stops for typical tourist snap shots and shopping and took us off the beaten path showing us everything from the slums to the richer areas. All the while giving us a details on the life of the people living in Roatan. Her family had been their for generations so she knew her island. We drove next to the water near some bays and she took us to a restaurant on a bay where we could eat, drink, or just take in the sights. She let us set the pace spending however much time we wanted at each stop. We saw more of Roatan and learned more about the island than we would have on the crowded ship tours. So here is our shout out Theris...thank you for the great tour and sharing your island life with us.
Rare crewsweeper Posted October 30, 2013 #3 Share Posted October 30, 2013 Thanks for your review. Can you post the Theris's contact information? Always good to have options for tours if other vendors get booked up or you need something more specialized.
