Taxi or walk to Sunset House

We are looking to head to Sunset house during a our stop in GC....

What are folks input re: walking vs. Taxi?

It it walkable? safe to do with our 10 yo daughter

How much is a taxt round trip for 3 people.

distance around a mile

 

there are sidewalks about 1/2, maybe 2/3 of the way

 

I've walked it many times day and night, never had a problem just use common sense and remember they drive on the LEFT

 

taxi is silly expensive but that's all over Cayman - $10 maybe ... for 1 mile!

 

there is a bus but I've never tried it.... has been mentioned the bus to points south of town is less frequent than those going 7 Mile way.

I felt safe and the walk was pleasant. Its a busy, street a lot of people coming and going. The staff at the rental counter were very friendly and helpful.

The first time we went we didn't know how close/far it was so we tried getting a taxi. Most of the drivers laughed us off and said no. They apparently were looking for a larger fare. We finally found someone to take us and were surprised as to how close it was. We laughed ourselves as we felt like we'd just left and he was parking again and charging us $10......We walked back. We've walked it a few times since then. Easy nice walk. Never felt unsafe, but watch for cars.
