Dicenator Posted September 13, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 13, 2013 Looking for info again. We just booked a cruise on this ship for February 8th next year. I've only been on one previous Princess cruise and that was the Emerald Princess in November, 2009. I found the craps table on the Emerald to be one of the best I've ever played on. Actually I would rate the bounce on this table as "dead". At that time I wasn't into my Underhand throw yet. I had major problems with craps on this ship. First, there were 3 at sea days and the craps table wasn't open in the afternoon on any of these days. Second, in the evening the table opened at 9 PM and then only with 2 dealers so only half the table was open. Maybe an hour later the 3rd dealer would show up and the whole table would be open. I didn't know enough then to go seek out the casino manager. After that cruise I was in touch with Princess cruise lines via email and I was told that it was at the individual casino managers discretion. AndyTheK Posted September 15, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 15, 2013 Hi there, Dicenator. We were on the Crown for 14 days this past July. Our third time on the Crown and fourth on Princess. My review mainly about casino play is at http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1879495 Physically, the Crown's tables are arranged into two distinct "pits". Since this cruise was European and the passengers largely Brits (not craps players). Princess - I don't know if it is Corporate or the casino division, whatever that might be - decided to have crew for only one of them. The craps table is in the "secondary" pit. Your cruise to the Caribbean should have both pits open. Whether or not you'll have better houurs... I can't say. The casino manager (Alan, IIRC) and casino host (Beatrice) were friendly and personable. They did their jobs with a smile and were player-friendly. We got reasonable comps without even asking for them! Our next up happens to be on the Emerald 28 days May-June 2014. Since it's a European itinerary out of Southampton, I suspect it will only have one of the pits open, like the Crown. Boo! Hope I shed at least a little light for you. Good luck. Salom, Andy.
