Xel-Ha or Xcaret

Looking at both of these places for our upcoming cruise. Can you tell me your opinions on either place? They look very similiar with Xel-Ha seemingly just a tad bit further distance.

We did Xcaret a few years ago on a land tour. I enjoyed it. It had areas to snorkel, several shows, decent food and cave tubing. My DH did not like it though and fussed the whole time. Did not like the commercialization of it and the cave really smelled.

 

Never did the other place.

 

Actually loved Chankanaub much better.

Go to the signature line for "mitsugirly". She's been there a few times. She has reviews and lots of pics. Has help out many cruisers.

At Chank it was my daughters birthday. We had arranged for the Royal Dolphin Swim, Manatee Encounter and Sea Lion swim. They made it special for her (she's disabled). Although we did not snorkel or do the trail, have heard its great. There's a Sea Lion show that's really cute. There's area to chill on the beach and the food is good and cheap. It was just a perfect day.
