any reliable way to get to Jost Van Dyke from St. Thomas for the day?

I was just there on a stop to Tortola. It was nothing special since it was morning/ afternoon. You will probably not be able to find someone to take you since you will have to clear customs in Tortola and then again in St. Thomas before boarding your ship.

There are a few options that depend on your arrival and departure times in port. The main operators depart Red Hook and Sapphire at 7:30AM, and the Daydreamer out of the Sugar Bay Resort leaves at 8AM. The latter is a great choice for JVD. What are your times?

The other option is a private charter that you book with a smaller outfit out of Sapphire Marina or the American Yacht Harbor in Red Hook who will take you over and bring you back. This is very doable, we haven't used these but others have so if you search this forum with Jost Van Dyke you may come across those. Also check the operators listed under daysail or similar links at vinow dot com and contact them.
