Jodi3284 Posted September 23, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 23, 2013 We are going on the Halloween cruise on the Elation and will be staying in New Orleans the night before and the night after our cruise. Was wondering if anyone has a favorite hotel to stay at and if you park at the hotel or at the pier. The day our cruise ends is my sons 17th birthday so we will celebrate in New Orleans, Ive never been so looking for celebration suggestions as well. runner15km Posted September 23, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 23, 2013 We have stayed 2x at The Wyndham Whitney about 2 blocks from Bourbon St. Far enough away from the noise of Bourbon but not to far to walk, plus its close to Mother's restaurant. We flew into town but there is plenty of parking at the pier.
wrigley80 Posted September 23, 2013 #3 Share Posted September 23, 2013 We will be in New Orleans in December and we are staying at the Sleep Inn and Suites in Metairie. Its away from all the hustle and bustle of the French Quarter but close enough that you still get to enjoy everything

mafig Posted September 23, 2013 #5 Share Posted September 23, 2013 We stayed at Harrah's New Orleans in May. If you have a Harrah's card, you can get a discounted or free night through Total Rewards.:)

lady_cruiser Posted September 23, 2013 #9 Share Posted September 23, 2013 Hampton Inn Convention Center is about a 15 minute walk to the casino, 20 minute walk to the French Quarter and only a 5 minute drive to the cruise port. They had a park cruise special when we were there the 6 & 7th of September but choose to park at the pier.
nol4am Posted September 23, 2013 #10 Share Posted September 23, 2013 Hampton Inn Garden District (St. Charles St.). They include parking for the week and even breakfast, so can't beat the price. It's about 2.5 miles from the cruise port and right on the trolley line, so the location is good. The # is 504-899-9908, just be sure to ask for Clara and the cruise passenger rate.
