Do to work constraints we have been sidelined to take a land trip. Las Vegas is very nice in November so we decided to sign up for M-Life. Looks like we can save a LOT on the room price. We registered, then called M-Life who verified our RCI status. then fixed our M-Life status to Gold. Now we are all set. We will get cards when we go to our first stay. So far so good. :D

Anyone been to a M-Life property and used the benefit yet? Thoughts on your experience?

We recently enjoyed our MLife benefits in Vegas (Bellagio) and on Allure OTS. In Vegas, at Gold, you should get a room upgrade--inquire on check-in. The head of the line privilege is nice for buffets. On the ship, go see the casino manager for comp drink tickets and a specialty dinner. NOTE re: spouses -- if you link your MLife accounts in Vegas, all gambling, restaurant, etc. points earned by either go toward the overall account balance. But if your accounts are unlinked while on Royal, you are two different players to them, and thus each gets drink coupons, a specialty restaurant dinner, etc.

Have fun!

Do you know if they will continue this program in 2014?

Just a few comments. I'm coming from the other end - Platinum M Life who took her first cruise as it was free.

Don't depend on that gold "upgrade". It's pretty rare - they always seem to be unavailable. I don't speak from personal experience, but from what I hear on the Las Vegas forums I participate on.

When booking a cruise, you have to choose between your RC benefits - or your M Life benefits - you can't use both. I am going on my next cruise in a few weeks. I had a $25 certificate available to me through RC, but I couldn't use it as I chose to use my M Life benefits instead.

I have a question about your m life cruise how did the free drink vouchers work? Were they on your card or vouchers? :)

They are actually a row of stickers. When I got to my stateroom, there was a letter asking me to stop by to meet my host in the casino after the muster drill. There she gave us our stickers, arranged our dinner at Chops, and put a sticker on our sea pass so the 5% cash advance fee was waived.

I actually have 3 stickers left and am wondering if I can use them on my next cruise. I had my non-gambling, non-drinking, sister with me on my last cruise so I didn't spend as much time in the casino as I would have without her.

Just back from Vegas. We asked what benefits were available for us since we are diamond on Royal. We were told to cruise more and get to diamond plus! We are gold at M already so no benefits!

Really? I have not used either or benefits (just did my first cruise and booked my first trip to Vegas at the MGM) but you should have benefits even as gold C&A. They are not like to die for benefits but I guess its better than nothing. I think the person you talked to was just lazy :p

Well, that's what I was told - that I could use the $25 certificate - OR - the M Life benefits, free drinks, free specialty dinner, etc. I figured 10 free drinks was worth far more than $25. I was also told I wasn't eligible for the casino rebate as my first cruise was free. I earned over 2,000 points and was invited to be a member of the players club. Maybe I'll confirm that with my host when I get on board.

I did the exact opposite of you. I am M-Life Gold and RCI hooked me up with a bunch of perks. I do love the fact they do this since I travel to Vegas so much for business its a nice little bonus on our upcoming trip on the OASIS. Now if RCI can only work out deals with Hilton and Delta.

We were invited to the original roll out of the program in Las Vegas, had a nice time at RCCL’S expense,

What we learned about the M-Life program is that if you are D+ and not a high roller in Vegas you get nothing on the ships in the way of benefits,

No free dinner, no waiving of the 3% cash charge in the casino, no free drinks, really no benefits on board the ships.

If you go to Vegas you get a few marginal benefits, 20% off on a room, what they call a line pass where you get to the front of the line in the buffet, no free lunch or discount though, also you get access to the high rollers lounge where they give you rolls and cookies, and coffee or wine.

Oh, I forgot the front of the line to catch a cab to the airport.

What happened to 'ssimon' sounds correct. They are Diamond C&A which converts to Gold MLife ...... but, since they were already Gold MLife, they were told there are "no benefits". I think what they meant was there are no ADDITIONAL benefits. As a current Gold MLife, they are already receiving all the perks & promos that go along with that level.

We are also Diamond C&A ...... we went to the Players counter at the Bellagio and were given Gold Level MLife Players Cards.

Some interesting information here. I know we are saving quite a bit on the hotel. Upgrades are always "if available" and that is why we book the room we want and if we get upgraded from there, bonus! There are some other perks with making reservations, shows, etc. Not earth breaking but hey, nice at least for a few extras.

Will the program continue in 2014? I don't know but once we registered with M-Life, it seems like it will.

I actually enjoy the MGM and they have some great shopping along with some shows I want to see. Free parking and it will be a nice quick trip. Not a cruise but nice!;)

  • 3 weeks later...

I'm just back from Vegas. DH and I are only C&A Gold Members (2 cruises with RCCL so far) and we printed out a screen-shot of our status before we left for Vegas. We had a reservation at the MGM and presented the screen-shots during check-in. The lady behind the counter excused herself, disappeared, came back with a big smile and said: "The manager just gave you a $150.- resort-credit!":D

We got our M-Life cards and booked all our food and drinks on the room. After three nights we checked out and the guy at the check-out desk said that we used the $150.- credit up but he would also deduct the resort fee for all three nights (another $75.-!!!).

As we were on a motorbike trip and after a few days on the road came back to Vegas twice, we could earn quite some points on our M-Life cards. Because of the Shutdown, we had to book an additional night at the MGM (prebooked all other nights but had to cancel a trip to Bryce Canyon). MGM gave us a 50% discount on the room-rate and cancelled again the resort-fee. :)

All in all we spent 8 nights at the MGM and jumped up one tier from Saphire to Pearl. Now I wonder what benefits I can get with that on my next cruise? Any ideas?

I am a Sapphire M-Life member and a Diamond C&A member. I called to have them linked which M-Life did. I have to show proof of Diamond status when we get to Vegas to actually upgrade my M-Life online. We booked 5 nights with a really good discount.

For those of you who are on FB, you can actually earn points on the casino game called myVegas that you can use for discounts at M-Life resorts. You can earn discounts for buffets, shows, rooms, drinks, etc.

DW & I have enough for a free weekday room, free companion ticket at Love, bogo free ticket for 4 day monorail pass and more. If you are going to Vegas and are on FB, check it out.

I'm surprised by your note that you have to show proof when you get to Vegas. The M-Life staff contacted RCI and confirmed our Diamond status. We actually got a better room deal online at MGB than through M-Life. Hoping to get some great perks when we get there!

Keep us posted about your adventure!:)

We just returned from Vegas there a few weeks ago, and picked up our gold MLIFE card upon check in. ( we are diamond)

My hotel stay was already paid since I was on a business trip, but they did upgrade us to a strip view.

We ate at MGM every night at the various dining options, and I gambled on the slots in the evenings. I probably lost 1500.00 overall in slots, and won it all back on the last day plus a few hundred. When we checked out our room bill was 378.00 due to charges we placed throughout our stay.

I asked them to check to see if MLIFE covered any of the expenses, and they came back a few minutes later and cleared the entire bill.

I don't know if my "Mlife" status helped clear that or the amount I gambled through the week.....but it seemed to have some perks. I was told the "strip " view is normally an additional 15.00 per night, and there is a 25.00 a night "resort fee" that they waved.

If you do plan on going to vegas, sign up on line for your card, then call them to have them upgrade your card to your C&A status. Once you arrive in vegas, pick up your new card BEFORE you check in, and have it in hand when you do check in.

It sure seemed to help us.

I was in Vegas in June staying a the Luxor. I went to the M-Life desk and showed them a printout of my C&A status showing I was Diamond. They gave me a Gold M-Life card. I will soon be going on Enchantment of the Seas. Is there any value to bringing my gold M-Life card and showing it to the casino manager? Will he give me anything (like a specialty restaurant voucher)? Or will it be a wasted effort since I am just a "reflected" M-Life Gold member?

As a side note, I was able to leverage my M-Life Gold card to gain Hyatt Gold rewards status. That means a few extra perks like free WiFi at Hyatt hotels.

We just got back from Vegas a few weeks ago.

We had our MLife status upgraded via email prior to arriving.

Upon arriving, before checking into the Bellagio, we went to the M-Life desk (in the middle of the casino) and picked up our cards.

When checking in, I asked if they had any fountain view or upgraded rooms available. They did upgrade us to the Superior Fountain View. It was awesome. I'm not sure if it was the M-Life "gold" card that worked or just asking...or the fact we wanted a smoking room and there are very few smoking rooms so maybe we lucked out there.

We did also receive some other nice perks with MyVegas rewards and drinks in Bellagio. I didn't even think to go and ask if we had earned anything from our play. We booked a deal that included a $100 resort credit so we had a $225 meal one night, leaving approx. $125 left to pay. I guess I should have gone to the M-Life desk when we were checking out. I'll make sure to do that next time! I guess it doesn't hurt to ask!

It was your gambling that did it. I just got back from a 4 day'er the Mirage I have not cruised rci yet (first will be in a few weeks) so i started from scratch with a sapphire card. During my stay I racked up enough to put me at pearl status. I had my room total tab comp'd (room was prepaid), two free buffets and 250 in free game play. All in all about 600 bucks worth of free stuff. I lost maybe about 1200 bucks. Was up and down constantly. Your CA status just gave you a gold colored card for appearance sake to get you the vip buffet/taxi pass. All your comps were based on your game play.

yes, I am sure it was...but not bad considering i came out a few hundred ahead. Also, they not only cleared the 378 from my room bill, after I was home a few days a credit of 238 showed up on my card from them as well...so sounds very similar to what you received.

WOW, reading that..I really should have visited the M-Life desk before we left. I figured you had to play over 10K to get anything. I feel like such a newbie in Vegas!

We are diamond plus and in June had to give them our crown and anchor numbers and proof of status..took two seapasses. After a few minutes...we were at the Bellagio doing this....no problem....here are your platinum cards. Be reminded...their system renews every october so when we go in january we have to take once again I suppose. Now when on the Rhapsody in August we had to choose between rccl benefit or MGM...hadn't heard that part before so we didn't get drink coupons...
