Enjoying your review and can't wait for the rest. We sail in January right after the new year!

I saw you mentioning that you were maybe going to do Dreams resort, was this an excursion from the ship or did you have reservations that you cancelled? We have reservations with a large group and hoping we have no problems getting there when we dock. I heard this can be a problem sometimes.

I had made reservations with the resort before leaving on vacation. I had expected to pay between $80 to $100 for 4 persons return for a taxi.

Tracy saw stairs that appeared to go down toward the river. The guard could not speak English but we were still able to communicate with signs and gestures. It looked like a long way down and even worse coming back up but Sweetie wanted to try it despite the heat and humidity.

We were back onboard at around 1:30 pm. Had lunch at the deli, we didn’t want to eat too much since we had the chef’s table for dinner.

I am Really enjoying this review! :) I eagerly await each day that is added.

I loved the pics of Altos de Chavon and the info on the shuttle. We are going there next week and we thought we would have to get a cab. The shuttle pics look so much nicer.

We leave on the Breeze on Saturday!:D

The village’s spectacular 5,000 seat open air amphitheater. Since its debut in 1992 by Frank Sinatra and Carlos Santana, the theater has featured renowned artists as Gloria Estefan, Julio Iglesias and Air Supply.

Loving the review but a small correction: Frank Sinatra played the Concert for the Americas at Altos de Chavon Amphitheatre on August 20, 1982. He performed with the Buddy Rich Orchestra featuring drummer Buddy Rich and guitarist Tony Mottola.

Keep up the great work! :)

You're right, it's a typo, I meant to put 1982. Thanks :)

Chef’s Table was at approximately 6 pm. We met in the lobby and we were escorted through the Sapphire dining room into the galley. The cost is $75 per person. We had made prior reservations however you can make it once you are onboard. We had previously done the Chef’s Table in 2010 on Carnival Imagination. They had a different menu and the table was set up in their beautiful library. We decided to do it again because of the new menu and because it was held in the galley, thus a true Chef’s table.

They served wine and champagne throughout the evening.

We stood around this stainless steel counter while the chef prepared and served us hors d’oeuvres.
