Tampa hotel/s near cruise port

Two hotels that meet all of your wants: courtesy airport shuttle, cruise pkg that incl, room, hot breakfast and round trip shuttle to/from the port are:

 

Holiday Inn Express Rocky Point - http://www.ihg.com/holidayinnexpress/hotels/us/en/tampa/tpaap/hoteldetail/hotel-packages

 

Chase Suites Rocky Point- http://www.chasehoteltampa.com/

 

Hampton Rocky Point- offers a cruise pkg but it only includes a shuttle to the port, not a round-trip shuttle. A taxi from the port to TIA is a $25 flat rate, so figure that in to the rates.

All three hotels are near the airport and have a nice view of the Bay. They are all grouped together with the Bahama Breeze Restaurant between. There are no stores near but the Chase suites has a small store for some supplies. If not, I believe Chase and Holiday Inn offer a courtesy shuttle within a 4 mile radius of the hotel. There is a Walgreens not too far. Not sure if Hampton offers a courtesy shuttle or not.

BTW- La Quinta Tampa airport has a courtesy airport shuttle and hot breakfast incl. Not sure of a cruise shuttle -BUT- their rates are really good, the hotel is clean and directly across from International Mall, which offers shopping and many restaurants. It may be worth it to get the room only rate and then take a taxi at your convenience. Taxi fare would be around $25 to the port and a set rate of $25 from the port back to TIA

Just wanted to say Thanks for all your info. :p

I've posted before but primarily lurking.

I just booked the Holiday Inn Rocky Point Tampa Cruise Package. :p Getting excited now.

We are also staying 2 days post cruise but have not booked that yet. Might just wait and wing it when we debark. Headed over to the Beach. Need to get my land legs back.

Just a suggestion, but we have stayed many times at the Alden All Suites resort on St.Pete, Beach. Their rates are good, the hotel is super clean, good Mgt and lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance.

Thank's again. I have that info and as you may remember, I'm the one who said we prefer the smaller Mom n Pop type Hotel. But.. Having never been there, St Pete's, we just want to check out the area first. The Alden still has availability for our night's. Trust me, I do keep checking. :p

The previous poster just said that Holiday Inn doesn't have shuttle. I know there are more than one in the area. I have confirmation that we have the cruise package with shuttle.

Quick question for you??? Have you ever been to Tampa Bay Brewery?? It was featured on Diners, Drive Inn's, and Dive's by Guy Fieti. So of course we want to go. Just wondering how far this is from our Hotel.??

Have not been made it to the brewery yet, but did see it on DD&D's. It should be a fun adventure for your.

 

As far as the courtesy shuttle, the poster may have meant that the Holiday Inn RP is no long offering the courtesy shuttle to anywhere in a 4 mile radius of the hotel. Other than a small store over at the Chase Suites there really is not a place to purchase wine, soda or any last minute items for a cruise. I'm not sure if the poster meant this particular Holiday Inn but I have heard that a lot of the cruise hotels are cutting back on the courtesy shuttle service. -----not to be confused with the actual cruise shuttle that is incl in the cruise pkg.

I have been looking at Hampton Inn Rocky Point as Holiday Inn Express does not offer a shuttle unles you pay for it. They told me that on the phone the other day. I appreciate all suggestions and I have been following up. Thanks again:)

You may be limiting yourself by looking for the airport and cruise port shuttle. It may be cheaper to get a hotel without a shuttle and taxi it to the port.

 

We are booked at the Embassy Suites Westshore for our cruise in April. It offers a free shuttle from the airport. A managers reception in the evening with free drinks and snacks and a free hot breakfast. The hotel is across the street from the Westshore mall and 2 blocks from a Walgreens. If you book with a Hilton MVP rate it is $88 a night for 12/7. A taxi to the port should only run $25.

With the cruise pkg at Holiday Inn RP, the round trip shuttle is either back to the hotel, for those that drove, or to the airport. The shuttle driver will ask who needs to go to the airport and who needs to go back to the hotel. The airport is on the way, so he swings by there first.

Perpaps they charge if one does not book the cruise pkg or for more than 2 guests per room. ??

 

Just wanted to let you know that the airport stop is part of the cruise pkg.

Don't have hotel points as we never pay to stay in any hotels. (gotta love Las Vegas comps). Thank you :)
