cherun Posted July 7, 2005 #1 Share Posted July 7, 2005 With this hurricane Dennis and seeing that some cruise lines of course have to change their itinerary, I have a question for booking outside the cruise line. The ones I looked at have a cancellation due to weather, but my question is: What if the cruise line changes their port (or cancels) because of avoiding bad weather and on the day you would actually dock the weather would have been suitable for the outing. Since you are on the ship you don't have a way to cancel yourself, what do most outside companies do when you contact them later? Do they all know the cruise line schedules and abide by theory that if they didn't dock you won't be there and need to cancel? Thanks for any help on this. I really want to book outside as I think the tours are smaller and better but somewhat concerned as to the exposure of NO refund.
clackey Posted July 8, 2005 #2 Share Posted July 8, 2005 Hola, I may be wrong, and if I am please tell me, but I believe that most of the tours will not bill you if your ship changes its itinerary.
cherun Posted July 8, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted July 8, 2005 Thanks I was hoping that the good tour operators (ones recommended on cruise sites) would abide bu that, but always like to double check...
hdawson Posted July 8, 2005 #4 Share Posted July 8, 2005 That was my experience with Capt Bryan on Grand Cayman. Always a great tour. Remember, the sucess of these businesses depends on our being satisfied.
