Rare alrichards4003 Posted October 3, 2013 Author #54 Share Posted October 3, 2013 I love sea days. I don't think I slept any later, but did not set the alarm and that is my favorite way to wake up. DH was still sleeping, and we planned on meeting up for bingo later, so I went to Cagney's for breakfast by myself. They asked where he has, later DH said he went later and they said I had been there earlier. image by alrichards4003, on Flickr After breakfast I went to the spa. Rare alrichards4003 Posted October 3, 2013 Author #55 Share Posted October 3, 2013 I went to the casino and then bingo where I met up with my husband. He told me he had gone to the cooking demonstration earlier and had liked it. It was the first session and took a while for everyone to buy their cards, afterwards the other sessions started on time, but this one was late. Some cruises they don't even start selling until when the game is supposed to begin. The woman who led bingo was good. They had a raffle for king and queen of bingo at the end, who would play for free for the rest of the cruise. I was surprised that they did not have a session of bingo before this day. Afterwards I went to lunch at Tsars: image by alrichards4003, on Flickr They had someone playing the piano or guitar. I don't remember. I do remember my favorite appetizer fried calamari: image by alrichards4003, on Flickr The philly cheese steak sandwich: image by alrichards4003, on Flickr The strawberry shortcake: image by alrichards4003, on Flickr
Rare alrichards4003 Posted October 3, 2013 Author #56 Share Posted October 3, 2013 We played Deal or No Deal, I enjoy it even more than bingo and better yet, I won $50 and DH won a free pull tab strip. Then to my favorite sea day event, the martini tasting: image by alrichards4003, on Flickr Dino led it in part until the Supervisor Jose, or Captain Booze, came over for a couple of rounds. They talk about the history of the martini and there were games as well. image by alrichards4003, on Flickr There were supposed to be four martini's but Capt. Booze said he was giving up 2 additional martinis, since it was his birthday, but told us everyday was his birthday. Rare alrichards4003 Posted October 3, 2013 Author #58 Share Posted October 3, 2013 After that it was time for a nap, but I was getting a headache and never did sleep. We had reservations at Moderno at 7. My plate from the Awesome Salad Bar: image by alrichards4003, on Flickr DH refused to eat from the salad bar as he was saving himself for the meat. Another picture of my "salad" plus the cheese bread. This was the third time we had been to Moderno, but first time I had the cheese bread and as much as I love cheese, I was eager to try; image by alrichards4003, on Flickr We had the meat. Chicken, ribs, sausage, filet, lamb, etc. But since headache turned to a migraine, we left without dessert and I went to bed shortly afterwards, DH watched dvds and that was it for the day. Rare alrichards4003 Posted October 4, 2013 Author #60 Share Posted October 4, 2013 We had breakfast at Cagney's. I had crab cakes eggs benedict 3 days, but this was the only time I took a picture. It was supposed to come with dill hollandaise and did the other times, but this time it was plain hollandaise. I had crab cakes so I was happy. image by alrichards4003, on Flickr DH pancakes, eggs and sausage: image by alrichards4003, on Flickr The weather was great, but still cool enough to need a jacket for part of the day, but there was no fog or rain. Rare alrichards4003 Posted October 5, 2013 Author #64 Share Posted October 5, 2013 We were off to Sausalito which was very picturesque, wish we had more time there. We had lunch at restaurant, Seven Seas. DH had his whiskey sour and since on NCL there is only Pepsi and I am one of the people who thinks there is a big difference, I had Jim Beam and COKE. This is from inside the restaurant, they had area which was open to sky and the rest was enclosed, but with huge skylight. image by alrichards4003, on Flickr image by alrichards4003, on Flickr They had a ton of options, but we both went with pizza. I had shrimp and mushrooms: image by alrichards4003, on Flickr DH had the Hawaiian Pizza: image by alrichards4003, on Flickr We went to a Wells Fargo, and I thought I would save money at using their ATM so there would be no fee. The ATM declined the card, I went inside and everything was fine. When we returned to the ship I called WF and they said it was because we were in California. I had called and told them when we would be in Canada and told them we were going to California. She told me that even if you were in state, you needed to let them know if you were traveling. I understood across the country (though I never had this problem in NY, or Las Vegas or NE) Just a heads up for anyone.

Rare alrichards4003 Posted October 5, 2013 Author #67 Share Posted October 5, 2013 Time for the spa. I felt like the hot tub and T-pool probably helped with any soreness from all of the walking. Next as we were getting ready to depart it was bargain bingo. $10 for a card for one game, I think I had three cards at it was $20. I had a pina colada. I think the service is much better on NCL, we had a hard time getting drinks while playing bingo, there would be one server for the entire room, on NCL they would have 4 or 5, I felt the same way about the MDR and the other places. I believe it is one of the ways Carnival is cutting back, which seems counter-productive. Anyway, we never had a problem getting served on NCL. image by alrichards4003, on Flickr image by alrichards4003, on Flickr A Cosmo at the martini bar: image by alrichards4003, on Flickr They often had someone playing piano or guitar and singing in bar city in the evening. image by alrichards4003, on Flickr
Rare alrichards4003 Posted October 5, 2013 Author #68 Share Posted October 5, 2013 Went to Cirque Bijou, it was the only show I went to. It was incredible, the acrobatics on the moving ship and some performed above the audience suspended by some wires. image by alrichards4003, on Flickr image by alrichards4003, on Flickr
Rare alrichards4003 Posted October 5, 2013 Author #69 Share Posted October 5, 2013 Had dinner in the MDR, it was after 8 so it was not as full. Rare alrichards4003 Posted October 5, 2013 Author #70 Share Posted October 5, 2013 Off to the casino and had a very good night. I was close to hitting the 1500 points for a drink card. Once I hit it, I got my card. I think I only had two free drinks from the card the rest of the cruise (1 day) and one was a Sierra Mist. It was late when I got back to the room, but was greeted by one of my favorite towel animals: image by alrichards4003, on Flickr Came back to find DH in natural habitat, on the couch, having ordered room service and dvds. The weather was nice and he had balcony door open. image by alrichards4003, on Flickr After scouring the schedule for the next day it was off to bed for our last day (noooo). Invariably I try to fit a lot in on the last day and don't always get to everything, but I try.
Rare alrichards4003 Posted October 5, 2013 Author #71 Share Posted October 5, 2013 Started out with breakfast at Cagney's. Had Banana pancakes and sausgage: image by alrichards4003, on Flickr Then to the spa. Met DH at bingo. Had a mimosa and won the first game of Bingo with a row of Bs. Won $111, not a ton of profit, but much better than losing. After Bingo we only had about an hour between bingo and deal or no deal. We went to the buffet for lunch, the selection was great but no seating was available until you got outside, which was windy and blustery. We were off to Deal or No Deal. image by alrichards4003, on Flickr I scheduled a massage at 2:30 and had the hot stones. It was wonderful and best yet, they did not do a hard sell. Then off to the martini tasting: image by alrichards4003, on Flickr The lemon drop: image by alrichards4003, on Flickr

Rare alrichards4003 Posted October 5, 2013 Author #73 Share Posted October 5, 2013 Flirtini? image by alrichards4003, on Flickr The martini tasting was informational, plus fun games, plus 6 martinis for $15. A great way to spend an hour. Since I was going to martini tasting DH went to bingo and tried to win the cruise, he said he was only off by 2 numbers. Rare alrichards4003 Posted October 5, 2013 Author #74 Share Posted October 5, 2013 We had dinner at Le Bistro. I love french food, especially escargot. I always reserve it for the last night, it is my favorite way to end the cruise. Salmon Mousse: image by alrichards4003, on Flickr I had escargot and DH had scallops for an appetizer (no pictures). I had the seafood in puff pastry, it has the $10 upcharge, but it is well worth it. image by alrichards4003, on Flickr DH had the pork and we had creme brulee for dessert (no pictures). A lot of the people on the ship were continuing on for the next cruise to Panama Canal, want to go to the Panama Canal, maybe 2015. Concierge came by to visit during dinner, we told everything was fine, but very rude to make us leave in the morning and he said if we gave him our credit card he could extend our vacation for another 2 weeks. I wish. We went to guest services to add tips for the butler and concierge. We were to meet at the casino at 9 and go to comedy show at 9:15. At 9 I never could find DH, and at 9:15 I went to the room thinking he might be there, no. I decided to take advantage of the tub, had a bubble bath and watched tv. I opened the sparkling wine and drank champagne in the bubble bath while watching tv. It felt so completely indulgent. DH returned to the room within the hour, he thought we were meeting at 9:15, he said comedian was not that great. Time for bed after wonderful long day, and the cruise was coming to an end, including our suite experience.
