swedish weave Posted October 5, 2013 #26 Share Posted October 5, 2013 One of my favorite memories was going North up the West coast of Mexico at night and we were on the Star running side by side with the Pearl very close together. Fantastic view !!!! I was too stupid to go get my camera and take pics...........
Godiva830 Posted October 6, 2013 #27 Share Posted October 6, 2013 I have one of the Breakaway and Celebrity Summit in Bermuda from Aug. The Breakaway is on the right. This was taken while on the ferry heading into Hamilton.
bobg529 Posted October 6, 2013 #28 Share Posted October 6, 2013 I took this of the Breakaway when I was walking back to the ship one night in May. Sorry for the quality...
sdmike Posted October 6, 2013 Author #29 Share Posted October 6, 2013 I found a couple of breakaway doing an internet search. I'm SURE someone has night pictures of the pool deck, right?

cle-guy Posted October 6, 2013 #31 Share Posted October 6, 2013 One of my best tips I leaded as a hack photographer, is when photographing still shots at night, put your camera on a solid surface and frame the shot, Then use the camera self-timer to take the picture. Doing this you ensure you don't jiggle the camera when the pic is taken (the electronics open the shutter, not your finger and hand pushing the button) and the exposure can be a bit longer and you will get much more crisp and rich photos. That's a great tip, night time exposure can be so tricky, thanks! :)

THANK YOU!!!!! I have an awful time getting good shots at night. Now I know why, and how to fix it! :) Loving this thread and the beautiful images, and looking forward to snapping some of my own now that I've learned how to do it correctly. :D
jaja Posted October 6, 2013 #34 Share Posted October 6, 2013 I was going through some pictures today trying to find something, and something really struck me. NCL ships tend to be beautiful at night. While many love the bright sun and pool, I find myself drawn to the beauty of the creatively and carefully lit outside areas. I love the ship lit up at night as well...it is beautiful ! And since the actual ocean at night kind of scares me..(don't know why)--the ship lighting makes be feel better...(guess I am weird!)
TSUmom Posted October 7, 2013 #35 Share Posted October 7, 2013 Love this thread and the pictures. One of our favorite things to do is walk around the decks at night. It is always so calm and relaxing - I can't wait until April!!!
