GAPearl's Big BREEZE Review! 8 Day Southern Itinerary 9/28/13.

Tonight was our second elegant night at dinner. We were seated at a four top, but without anyone else. This is my biggest gripe about your time dining. If you want a private table, you will love it. I prefer sitting at large tables so I can meet new people and have some good conversation. There were lots of jeans. The Breeze hostess staff really needs to do better here. Our waiters danced to Gangham Style.

Roasted half chicken, very good!

This could have been a nice picture. Haha

Lace, pearls, and red lipstick. So ladylike huh? :-)

After dinner, I wandered into the Ovation Theater to watch The Divas Show that had already started. That’s 20 minutes of my life I will never get back. It was REALLY BAD! Like terribly bad! The lead singer wouldn’t make it past the second elimination round on American Idol. If I remember correctly, there were four female and four male singers. They had no cohesive harmony, none at all whatsoever. I didn’t butcher “Sweet Dreams” by The Eurythmics as bad as they did when I sang it at karaoke last month. The set and background was nothing more than a small platform and a screen with projected images. I wouldn’t even compare this to a high school play. It was THAT BAD. This is why I stopped going to the shows on Carnival. When I sailed Royal Caribbean last year, I really enjoyed their production shows. They were top notch and clearly a lot of effort was put into it. Carnival’s production shows and talent need a lot of improvement.

Happy to leave, I headed to the Limelight Lounge for the Punchliner comedy shows. I saw the 9:15 pm show of Happy Cole. I’ve seen him at least twice before and he’s always very funny. G joined me for the 10:15 pm show of Will Marfori. This was the first time I’ve seen Will. He has muscular dystrophy and tells you up front, in a joke of course. He was really funny too! I loved these guys much better than the first two comedians earlier in the week.

Well you guys all wanted a picture! G and I at the Punchliner. LOL

We headed to Liquid Nightclub for the rest of the night. The Fun Times has tonight as the “Skyy’s The Limit Party,” with an appearance by the production playlist cast. They came in maybe around 12ish, all dressed alike with the girls in these blue gowns and red heels, danced among themselves for 10 minutes, strutted through the crowd a time or two to be seen, and left. One question- what’s the point? It’s a little misleading in the Fun Times, as it’s printed “meet your cast” like they’ll be mingling with the crowd or something. I really could care less about meeting the cast, especially after that dreadful performance. However, I will say on previous cruises when this was not forced on them, the cast would hang out in the club on their own and have a lot more fun with the passengers that way. The music tonight was the best it had been all week. Good times indeed!

My mom skipped dinner and went to the casino so I headed to dinner solo. I arrived at 7:15 pm, just in time to see our waiters dance to "Moves Like Jagger." That’s the first time I’ve ever seen them dance to this song!

Thanks Kim for taking us along on your vacation!! You do such an awesome job on your reviews! You sure fooled us with a picture of "G" that all of us were hoping to see. I hope you both make a love connection. It it's to be it will be. He's a really sharp dresser as are you. Thanks again for all the time you put into this. We're sailing on a 6 day on the Breeze in November. Now I wish we had had chosen the 8 day. Maybe next year.

Looking forward to reading your next review!!

I'm all caught up now. :(

Fantastic review! I am kind of upset that it is almost over, I wish I had been stalking CC last week to read it in real time.

I am out on the Valor in February because of your review. I think the Breeze is going to have to be next... Maybe you should just tell me where to travel! :D

Subscribed! I can't wait to read all about your Breeze experience!!!

Thanks for subscribing! I hope you enjoy!

Well, I must say, GAPearl, your review is making me want the Breeze to be my next Carnival cruise. This year (in 6 weeks actually:D) we are going on Princess and taking a break from Carnival. Do not get me wrong, we still greatly enjoy Carnival, but I have not enjoyed their food for the last 2 or 3 years. I felt I needed a change. My travel companions (one was on Ruby Princess with her husband last year and the other on the Sunshine in Europe back in May) wanted to try something different for our all-girls/leave-the-guys-at-home cruise. Next year though, we'll likely do another Carnival cruise, and I'd like it to be the Breeze.

I understand wanting to switch it up a bit. I booked us on the Freedom of the Seas for next year. I also looked at Norwegian's Breakaway but it was wayyyyy more than what I wanted to pay. Princess had some great last minute deals to Alaska this year. I might give them a try next year if they have some that cheap again ($199 pp inside 7 day). Change is good, but I'll always come back. :)

LOL G is looking a little Jaundice! But he has a nice smile and dresses nicely too! :D

Jaundice LOL.

nice, i like that song :)

lookin' fierce :D

Me too! And thanks! :D

GAPearl, Mr G sure does have a nice SMILE.. Great review I will be on breeze Dec 1, From MS but flying out of ATL so much cheaper.

LOL Enjoy your cruise! You'll have a fabulous time. If you've never been to the ATL airport, get ready. Sometimes it's like !

Love your review! G looked like he smelled good, and you look great.

Thank you! And yes girl, he did. :)

I think you make a charming couple and I love the coordinating outfits! ;):)

He wanted to change out of his suit into jeans or shorts. I was like no, keep it on!

LOL, G's smile matches his sunny disposition. LOL. You are too funny !

LOL I can be quite the comedian sometimes.

Love reading about your trip on the Breeze , very jealous now that we decided to cruise again on the Dream instead of the Breeze . I would love to go to Aruba again . But maybe next cruise :-) your outfits were soo cute btw

Thank you! Hopefully you'll get to sail the Breeze one day! I've never been on the Dream but I'm sure she's a great ship. Aruba is fabulous.

Thanks for all the nice words! Take advantage of every minute you have on the ship. There's so much to see and do and time will fly by fast. I hope it works out too!

Your review has me itching to go on the Breeze now and stay in a Spa room. Thinking I might take my Mom!

BOOK IT!!!!! :D

Have to agree with you on The Divas show. I thought it was awful. Looking forward to the production shows that Liberty still does.

I had read in recent reviews it was bad. I was hoping those were exaggerations.

I'm all caught up now. :(

LOL Awesome! Book the Breeze next and tell Carnival to send me my commission check for the booking! I still have one more day to cover, so it's not totally over yet.

You are quite cleaver! Great photo of "G"

I was on the Breeze in Aug. and even though I liked the Production Shows the signing was horrible! I just returned from the Glory today which had two of the same shows ( Divas & the Motown one) but the singers were FANTASTIC!! It made a huge difference!

I guess it's really hit or miss and depends on what singers are available when they move them from ship to ship. Glad you enjoyed the shows better on Glory.

GA Pearl I am loving your review. It brings back memories! I just booked the Breeze again for next June, the 6 day cruise.

Woo-hoo! Good for you! :D

What was the name of the chocolate drink that you had again?

Thanks!

Mocha chocolate getaway. Give it a try on your next cruise!
