nigkar Posted October 7, 2013 #1 Share Posted October 7, 2013 Would you be able to book a tour to stingray city on the day? What sort of price would I expect to pay?
micmacmissy Posted October 7, 2013 #2 Share Posted October 7, 2013 Sure you can. When you walk to the port area there are lots of vendors/tours right there to be purchased on the spot. Probably you'll pay about the same pp as you would prebooking, maybe $10/pp more, tops. You can also book through your cruise line at the last minute, assuming they have space available. But honestly, if you're doing Stingray City, you really want the first tour leaving first thing in the morning to have the best experience...that is one tour I wouldn't leave til the last minute. wantocruisemore Posted October 8, 2013 #3 Share Posted October 8, 2013 Also please read the reviews of various companies, not all are the same. We booked with with Stingray Sailing and due to ship's schedules they gave us the option to wait til noon for them or go with co-worker EcoTours and Kevin and get an extra stop due to a faster boat. We went with Kevin and were thrilled. From what we saw at Stingray City, there's a vast difference in the quality of the providers. Our group was not soliciting at the port like other providers. Of course if you only want to ride there, see the stingrays where you may or may not be able to interact (not all places provide food for stingrays and they focus on ones who feed them), then you're fine reserving at port.
