Off Menu items in the DR

Recommended Posts

Good to know these dishes are available as "off menu" items to be ordered by any one on any sailing. We love linguini e vongole !
I wouldn't be quick to assume it's an item you can just order if you ask. She was the captain's wife, afterall. Her special request carries a bit more weight than your typical passenger.

That said, I'm totally going to ask for it. :D Politely, of course.

2nd that!

I hope I get that on our upcoming Dec 1, 2013 Breeze 6 days W. Caribbean.

A couple of years ago when we ordered the banana split, our waiter said, "You can't order that". I said, "Oh, yes, we can. It's on the children's menu." Guess we were the first of his adult guests who ever asked for it.

My brother and his wife got friendly with a lady from Italy on board

She was from the same town as our father

They talked recipes and food

At dinner we were served liguinni e vongole

Or linguini with clams

She later introduced us to her husband. The ships captain

Fantastic story.
