Cruzin-K Posted October 13, 2013 #102 Share Posted October 13, 2013 You're right, I AM a delight! :p I find that I meet the nicest people when I travel. If you go out looking for trouble, you will find it. If you go out with an open heart (haaaaaaht, that's for Yorkvillian) and an open mind, you will meet the same. This reminds me of my favorite quote. It's from Mark Twain and it is actually the only quote that I ever memorized. I have that quote on the wall of my office. It keeps me going when my co-workers are being particularly annoying :p
Mystaken Posted October 13, 2013 #103 Share Posted October 13, 2013 About Rita's Fiesta. Did they seat you at a table for 2 by yourself? If so, were the food portions for one or two? Do they offer the option of joining others?
Rare NorbertsNiece Posted October 13, 2013 #104 Share Posted October 13, 2013 More Yummy! They even had the penny candy of my (misbegotten) youth! Finally, at 11:30, I returned to my cabin. I think my two friends might have gotten into the Margaritas as well. I pulled them together and awarded them my flashing necklace, which flashed for six whole days, finally petering out on Saturday. So, that was Day 1. Was I lonely? NO! Was I bored? HELL NO!! Did I fall overboard? Noooo, but, around 2am, they started paging someone to report to Guest services. They paged about every 10 minutes or so, 3 or 4 times total. Finally, they stopped paging and I fell asleep. Then, around 3:30, Bang!! Half dressed men doing acrobatics have totally messed with my head.... did I miss the bit where you explain what the Bang!! was?

maureencruiser Posted October 14, 2013 Author #114 Share Posted October 14, 2013 Loving your review, thanks so much. Bringing back great memories of our May sailing. Glad you reminded me of the food at Rita's Fiesta because after 3 margaritas I can't :D I see you in your tiny sombrero! :D put me off solo cruising but think I may venture back now with RC. Thanks for giving me the confidence to do it. Oh, do it! You'll have a great time. The nice thing is you can be with people when you want to and be alone when you want that. maureencruiser Posted October 14, 2013 Author #116 Share Posted October 14, 2013 About Rita's Fiesta. Did they seat you at a table for 2 by yourself? If so, were the food portions for one or two? Do they offer the option of joining others? Yes, I had a table for two, the tables are very close together, so, it was really like I was at the table with Lucy and Ethel. The people on the other side were nice, too, but, I didn't talk to them as much, I did offer them some of my extra food, cause I'm cool like that! :D The portions were enough for two, I didn't ask about joining others, I was one of the first people there. Half dressed men doing acrobatics have totally messed with my head.... did I miss the bit where you explain what the Bang!! was? NorbertsNaughtyNiece, Half dressed? They could be wearing twice as much clothes and they still wouldn't be half dressed. ;)

maureencruiser Posted October 14, 2013 Author #119 Share Posted October 14, 2013 Ok, back to the second BANG! I am telling you, it was LOUD. That door banged every night at about 3:30 and my cabin walls shook! The balcony door shook in its frame. I have never heard anything that loud on a ship. This was not your typical neighbors being inconsiderate and letting their door fall instead of closing it. I had neighbors directly to my left, they seemed very quiet. There was a blank space between me and my neighbors to the right. The key to it all has to be across the hall. There were two crew doors there. I peeked inside them one day and one had sheets and towels in it. The other had something to do with food service, I saw plates and glasses. My theory is either the laundry was bringing up clean linen for the morning and letting that door slam or the other door was for room service and they were doing it. I asked Javier, my room steward about it and he swore it wasn't any staff member. I don't know, but, it was terrifying being woken up from a sound sleep and thinking someone was in your room. :(
maureencruiser Posted October 14, 2013 Author #120 Share Posted October 14, 2013 After the show, I wandered around on the Promenade for a bit. That Champagne Bar must be a rollicking place, they had all these wheelchairs lined up to take people back to their rooms! I want to like Sorrento's pizza, I really do. not my style, but, people like it. I never did buy a cupcake, maybe I should go back?
maureencruiser Posted October 14, 2013 Author #121 Share Posted October 14, 2013 This place was HOPPIN' and POPPIN' every night! Info for the soda drinkers The flower cart was pretty, I don't remember seeing it after the first day. He smells something and it is not flowers! maureencruiser Posted October 14, 2013 Author #122 Share Posted October 14, 2013 My other car is a cruise ship. Actually my car is a PT Cruiser and it makes me smile whenever I see its name. I was at the Schooner Bar for the Dreamworks Parade, didn't get any really good pics.
montgomeryfamily Posted October 14, 2013 #123 Share Posted October 14, 2013 Maureen, we are really enjoying the review and pics. We are going to be on the Allure in December and this is very helpful. I do have a question about how the gift exchange was done. Since the Meet and Mingle doesn't begin until 9:30 and the Crown and Anchor party begins at 10:10 or so, is there enough time to do the gift exchange after the cruise staff does their activities or how was this done on your cruise?
