Escapade Island Noumea

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, our group wants to go to Escapade Island in Noumea for a day trip, I hear its very popular with the locals, but the only info I can find is tour companys charging an absolut fortune so if the locals go there we must be able to just catch the ferry over there apparently the ferry leaves from moselle Bay and the ferry is called coral palms ferry but cant find any info on it . Does anyone on here know any details of where it leaves from, how far from ship docking and how much. Very much appreciated any info would be, and id it worth the trip...

Thanks Michelle

I think you catch the Duck Island taxi then carry on to Escapade island. I found this page last week when looking at how to get to Duck island. I hope I am correct though because the page was in French and then translated into english. Not sure if the link will work properly as I am at work and my computer has some restrictions. Ilôt Maître is Escapade island.

If that does not work try this and then try to translate it into english. :)

Getting To and From L’Escapade Island.

The Resort Boat “Coral Palms” which is a decent-size with internal seating, runs a scheduled service between L’Escapade Island and Port Moselle, the Downtown Noumea Marina, Ferry and Cruise Ship terminal. Port Moselle is only a few blocks and an easy walk to and from the centre of Noumea and the central Place De Cocotiers. L’Escapade Island resort is approximately 6 kilometres from Port Moselle.

Bullet Resort Boat Schedule:

Depart Depart

Port Moselle Escapade Island

8:00am 8:30am

10:00am 10:30am

11:30am 2:00pm

2:30pm 3:00pm

4:30pm 5:00pm

5:30pm 6:00pm

7:00pm 11:00pm

Additional evening transfers are scheduled on Fridays and Saturdays as well as Saturdays and Sundays November through March.

Scheduled boat transfers are included in the tariff when staying at L’Escapade Island.

Private boat transfers can be arranged on request.

The island is open to day-trippers from Noumea and can be quite busy during the weekends in particular. However the island is long and narrow with lots of beaches so there is plenty of space for day-trippers and hotel guests to spread out. As a result of having the day-trippers L’Escapade does have an extremely wide range of activities on offer from jet skis to banana-boat rides and stand-up paddle boards.
