AMEX gift card towards onboard account?

I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a way to use an AMEX gift card on the cruise. I got a $200 AMEX gift card that specifically says, cannot be used internationally or on cruise ships. If I bought myself a "gift" of OBC by calling 1_800_princess. Do you think that might be a work around?

They won't take it. I tried a couple of years ago with a stack of them. Without a name, there is no way they can process it.

I was able to add several AMEX gift cards to my account by calling 800-Princess. All the cards said they couldn't be used for cruise lines, but they worked. I wasn't able to get a Visa gift card to work. It declined no matter what amount I tried to add. But the Amex's worked fine. Give Princess a call - it should work.
